What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the swim club are mixed, highlighting significant inconsistencies in member experience. Several patrons express strong disappointment, citing a 'freezing' pool with persistent heater issues, visible disrepair including missing plaster and dirty floors, and a general feeling of an aging facility requiring major upgrades. One reviewer also criticized the swim lessons for large class sizes and insufficient one-on-one time, leading to a lack of learning. Conversely, other members offer high praise, commending the friendly staff, lifeguards, and good food. These positive reviews describe the pool as never crowded, with comfortable water temperatures (contradicting other claims), and generally well-maintained, referring to it as a 'best-kept secret' and 'family-oriented'.

We visited Saturday for the Labor Day weekend with friends and are so disappointed in our club. The pool is freezing (many guests are saying it’s ‘numbing’ cold), there is plaster missing all over the place with exposed concrete, and the pool floor is filthy. The heater was a constant issue this year, and all we did was throw bandaid fixes at it that don’t really do much from what we can tell. Until the Board develops a plan and finds a way to actually replace the heater and make the necessary improvements in this aging facility, I can’t recommend this swim club to anyone. We know it’s expensive. But we would rather pay more in dues and have a pool we can enjoy it, versus pay less and not being able to actually enjoy the water. Woodland Hills in USC seems to have it together from what my friends over there shared. Probably time for a change, which stinks because this club is so close to our home. If you think you may want to join, please reconsider. My kids and I can’t enjoy our pool on the last weekend of the summer…we’re so disappointed.
My son took swim lessons here last year. Needless to say I'm signing him up for lessons somewhere else this year. There's not enough one-on-one time. That or the class sizes are too large. Maybe for young children but not older children/teens. I enrolled him here to strengthen his swim skills. Now I'm spending money again at another facility because he didn't learn anything.
Very nice people, lifeguards, and staff. Made in 1963, but in awesome shape. 4 ft, 5 ft, 12 ft. Diving board and slide. Not crowded AT ALL! I love Bower Hill Swim Club!!!
This pool is the best kept secret in the Pittsburgh south hills! Friendly staff, great water temp, plenty of chairs, never crowded, good food. Check it out!
Great pool and family oriented.
