What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for this pool are mixed, with recent negative experiences contrasting older positive feedback. Many long-time members and families with children highly praise the pool, describing it as a welcoming, family-like environment and a neighborhood 'diamond.' They highlight it as a staple for summer activities, including swim meets, socializing, exercise, and events, with children enjoying the diving board, slide, and opportunities to make friends. However, more recent reviews from new members and individuals without children describe significant issues. These include severe overcrowding on weekends, a lack of dedicated adult swim time, frequent cancellation of lap swim, and poor customer service characterized by rude staff and a feeling of being unwelcome for newcomers. One reviewer specifically advises against joining if you don't have kids, citing the difficulty of finding space to swim and the constant presence of unmanaged children, recommending a different facility like the Y instead.

Don’t join if you don’t have kids. Just a person in their 20’s who was hoping to workout and relax over the summer. This place is overcrowded on weekends, to the point where you need to bring your own chairs and only get to tread water, otherwise you are at risk of getting smacked around by adults and children who lack manners. Adult swim is rarely, if ever, called, so don’t expect to get a reprieve from kids and those who won’t parent them. They cancel the lap swim constantly when they could easily schedule whatever plans on the days that there is not a lap swim. The lifeguards will not put lanes up even during “not busy hours” like the email specified. Overall it’s a disappointing experience; this is not the place to spend your money if you are like me. Go join the Y instead, it’s cheaper and you will get more out of it.
Overall, we did not have a great experience. I did see the previous reviews. They are mostly positive but please note they are also several years old. Note that we are new to this area, and this is our first time joining this swim club so you miles may vary. We have joined for ~1.5 month. The other day one of their employees (who didn't even talk to us) shouted to us (with our child present) to get out of their "private property" because we were wasting the lifeguards' time. When in fact we were just asking questions/explaining the situation since we are new here and we did not even go there that frequently (this happened the 5th time we went there) . And this is just one example. As new members, we basically felt like we were always the outsider. Nobody cared to explain anything, and when you ask you get what we experienced above. Again, if you are considering joining then you can read my review and decide. If you have been a member for a long time, like I said, you miles may vary, but this is only our experience.
My four children have been growing up at the pool, making friends, and competing on the swim team. Brook Park Pool is a staple in our summers whether it is a swim meet, a place to gather with friends (kids play games, build tents, socialize), or a place to exercise. It is a great environment for everyone, this pool is a little diamond for the neighborhood.
So welcoming ! Kids love diving board and slide. We all love the welcoming environment. Brook Park is more than just a pool its family.
Love this pool - this is located in a great place with lots of trees. Kids love it and it is great for lap swim as well as for picnics and events.
