What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Greentree pool holds sentimental value for many, offering cherished childhood memories and a place for new generations to create them. It's a members-only facility for specific school districts, known for being a safe, family-friendly spot when lifeguards are present. However, recent experiences highlight several issues: the pool is small, often crowded with children, making adult swimming difficult. The 'heated' pool frequently has cold water due to a breaking heater, and the sign-in system is often faulty. Staffing shortages have led to 'no-lifeguard days,' shifting supervision responsibility to parents. Some members find the environment loud, crazy, with limited shade, and have encountered rude lifeguards (though one review praised them). A mandatory monitor shift or fine also contributes to member dissatisfaction, leading some families to consider alternative options like the Mountain Park clubhouse.
Reviews
The Greentree pool holds a special place in the hearts of those who grew up in the area, providing cherished memories of summertime fun. With a licensed lifeguard on duty, it is a safe and enjoyable place for families to play. It is very heartwarming to see that the Greentree pool is still open, providing the next generation with the opportunity to create joyful memories there.
This is a members-only pool for households in the Hallinan or Westridge school districts. As members for the last 2 years, my family has had a mixed experience. The pool is just a tiny bit larger than a normal backyard pool and 95% of the time has just kids in it. The parents / adults sit at tables around the edge. There is a lifeguard, but this year they've had trouble staffing that position so they just started no-lifeguard days, and now it's your responsibility to watch your own kids in the water. Typically, the pool is colder than you'd expect for a heated pool. The heater often breaks, but it's cold even on days when it's working. The sign-in laptop never seems to be working either. Every time I try to sign us in, it finds our names but won't complete the sign-in for some reason. I tried getting in the pool once but had kids flinging themselves past my head every 30 seconds so I haven't tried to get in again. It depends on the day though, sometimes it's not as busy. For us though, we're heavily leaning towards letting our membership go. The main reason is my husband and I can't stand going there, so we end up never talking the kids. It's loud, crazy, small, and has no shade except the umbrella over each table. And if it's a busy day, all the tables are taken. The lifeguards are rude and have lied to us when we ask them questions. Now we don't even have lifeguards. And we have to work a monitor shift there or get fined $100. I'd say if you're pondering a membership, consider whether you want to sit at a table while your kids swim. Other nearby options include the Mountain Park clubhouse that has a huge pool that's open all year - and no waiting list!
