I’d love to share how impressed I am with this fitness complex! It’s spacious, spread over two floors, and everything is well-organized and modern. I especially appreciated having access to two swimming pools, a sauna, a fully equipped gym, and a dedicated area with exercise bikes. Working out here is a real pleasure! On top of that, I got incredibly lucky — the first week was completely free, and just as I finished it, a special promotion started, so I received an additional month for free! I haven’t seen such generosity in a long time. The staff is professional, friendly, and always ready to help. I highly recommend this place to anyone who values comfort, quality, and a great workout environment!
We recently moved here and have been attending the Tuckahoe YMCA for about 2 months now. The childcare here is a god send, and it has allowed me to regain a little piece of “me” outside of my mom identity. My kids love going, and it is SO reassuring to know they are well cared for by consistent and caring staff. The play space is always immaculate and the toys are intentional, and it’s by far the best child watch I’ve ever seen at a gym. We are beyond grateful!
Joined in January, and committed to myself to get back in shape. First thing I did was start with a personal trainer, Brandon. He's been great in getting me launched with strength and cardio training.... he's pushed me to work harder and stronger without it being overwhelming. The facilities are super clean, and all the staff are so friendly. I've learned lots of strength exercises from Brandon, so I can keep my workouts mixed up.
I want to start by saying how much my family loves the Tuckahoe YMCA facility—the staff, especially the counselors and afterschool care team, are absolutely wonderful. They care deeply about the kids and create such a positive, supportive environment. We’ve had great experiences through afterschool programs, sports, and now summer camp. That said, the corporate billing and business center has been a very different experience. Communication is poor, and navigating any billing or account issues feels frustrating and disorganized. It’s disappointing to see such a great community branch impacted by a lack of professionalism and follow-through on the administrative side. We continue to support the Tuckahoe location because of the amazing staff, but I truly hope the larger organization takes a serious look at improving how they handle operations and communication with loyal families.
*Parents with children with special needs - PLEASE READ! My son was diagnosed with ADHD/Autism two weeks before I registered for camp at the Tuckahoe YMCA. He’s very high functioning and has been in the school setting since pre-k. I let them know prior to registering about his IEP plan and some accommodations we have in place. They made it seem like everything was okay! June 2nd was the first day of camp. Why did they politely kick my child out the program? First we talked about doing half days because it was a new environment but when I went to pick him up they basically said let’s go ahead & issue a refund! I’m so frustrated but also understand all of the children’s safety is the biggest priority! I think the most heartbreaking thing is they didn’t give my child a chance to adapt to the environment or modify the camp schedule. They immediately decided they didn’t want to work with him. I say this to say don’t waste your time sending your children here for summer camp if they have any type of special needs. They will not work with them AT ALL! They didn’t give my child any time to adjust. I’m disgusted with this location & the staff here.
