CHAWP Aquatics, officially known as the Corona-Norco Family YMCA Aquatics Center, is a comprehensive aquatic facility located at 2065 Temescal Ave, Norco, CA. It boasts an Olympic-sized 50-meter competition pool, a warm-up pool, and a dive well, serving as a hub for competitive swimming, swim lessons, water polo, lap swim, and other community aquatic programs.
The main 50-meter competition pool at CHAWP Aquatics is typically maintained around 79-80°F (26-27°C). Specific temperatures for the warm-up pool and dive well are not consistently published, but warm-up pools in similar facilities often range from the high 70s to mid-80s Fahrenheit.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for CHAWP are mixed. Positive feedback highlights amazing, knowledgeable, and phenomenal coaches who teach the correct way to play water polo and achieve quick results in swim lessons. Many families praise the great community and clean facilities. Conversely, negative reviews cite significant issues, including a poor refund policy and lack of communication from management, especially regarding a requested refund. Concerns were also raised about the perceived low quality of water polo play and predatory pricing for events like the CalCup league, where a $20 per person 'spectator fee' (even for children and non-spectator chaperones) was deemed excessive and poorly organized, forcing some families to stay in the parking lot.

I signed my son up for the summer session. A couple of days later he was offered a job where the hours would not work with the commute to CHAWP. I asked for a refund, several weeks before the summer program began. The website does say no refunds, but the agreement I signed did not. I called and and spoke with Greg the owner and he said to email the reason and they would send the refund to the board for approval. It has been over a month and now no one will return my emails. The decent thing would have been to refund the summer session. This club is not worth doing business with, especially after observing the low quality of water polo play at the last tournament I had the opportunity to watch the 26 and 18 boys play. Mediocre at best. Stay away from this club.
CalCup league is a predatory ripoff and a joke. “State Finals” can be entered by anyone whether they played in calcup or not. I paid 90 bucks to register the kid, then they wanted to charge me $20 a person to “spectate”! I’m not a spectator, I’m a chaperone of the little kid playing. What’s worse, they wanted $20 for my 10 year old who is an athlete. The idea that I’m showing up to “spectate” 12 year olds at 6:30AM is ridiculous. There are families in the parking lot because they have to pay for their other children to enter the deck. It would cost some with little siblings $100 so the can supervise their child playing teams that signed up yesterday. Poorly organized, and a predatory practice to charge so much to stand on a high school pool deck.
My daughter has been playing water polo with CHAWP for three years and we LOVE it!! The families are great and the coaches are amazing. When she started here, she came from another club and they had to basically erase everything the other club did and teach her the correct way to play. It is clean, the coaches are knowledgeable and take the time if you have questions. I recommend if for swimming and for water polo!
My twins are loving their swim lessons so far. After only a few lessons, both are able to swim on their own.
Great club and phenomenal coaches
