Pool for lessons and laps, plus aerobics classes with friendly staff.
Public pools operated by the City of San Diego, including Allied Gardens Pool, are typically heated to a comfortable temperature, often maintained around 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately 26-28 degrees Celsius) during their open season for patron comfort and swim lesson programs.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? This swimming pool is highly praised for being well-maintained, having friendly and helpful staff, offering private dressing rooms, and being located in a beautiful park. It's considered great for water aerobics and lap swimming, with a convenient 7-foot deep end. However, significant downsides include inconsistent and irregular operating hours, with frequent closures (mid-day, lunch, weekends, specific mornings), which are frustrating for adult swimmers and make it difficult to plan visits. There are also complaints about a lack of water fountains for rehydration and limited parking. It's advised to call ahead due to the unpredictable schedule.

🐋 One of the best maintained public swimming pools. 🐟 They have private dressing room available if you're more comfortable using it. 🐠 One end of the pool is conveniently 7' deep. 🐡 Employees so friendly and always willing to help. 🐳 Pools is surrounded by a beautiful park.👙 Only thing I didn't like is there are no fountains for rehydrating. 🐊 This pool and especially the crew well deserve five stars: ⭐⭐🌟⭐⭐
This pool is fantastic! All the employees are so friendly and helpful. I go to water aerobics every morning. It's a great time. My friends love to swim laps, and they have a terrific time as well. The only downfall, is the limited amount of parking. Be careful on the first Tuesdays of the month, street cleaning. However, it's worth it to look for a spot to get into this pool.
Allied Gardens Pool is such a convenient and pleasant place to be to get a nice swim or swim lessons...
Although I love coming to this pool, I hate how inconsistent they are with their hours. Staff is pleasant but I wish their hours are more consistent. The fact that this pool doesn’t have weekend/evening hours is that it caters more towards the children rather than the adult in the area. I also arrived on a Tuesday at 10 am and it was closed due to SDGE. Therefore, if you do come to this pool, call ahead. Sometimes they’re open. Sometimes they’re not. They are very inconsistent.
The pool is great. The hours when the pool is open for lap swim, are irregular and constantly changing. Often times closed, closed during the mid day, closed during lunch hours, closed on Sundays and Mondays, closed Tuesday / Thursday mornings only. I can't quite understand why the hours are so inconsistent. It seems as if whoever is making this schedule is doing so to suit themselves and not the people who would like to swim during the mid day heat. Sad to see a good facility closed most of the time.
