What are people saying (AI review summary)? The gym receives mixed reviews, with some praising its convenient location, ample parking, cleanliness, generally nice staff (with exceptions), good food, new class offerings, and outdoor options that prevent overcrowding. However, significant criticisms are raised regarding dated and insufficient equipment for the high membership fees (up to $800/month), poor space utilization within the gym, and limited/unpredictable operating hours. A major point of contention is the gym's prioritization of pickleball, which reportedly displaces other activities and involves rude players. Other issues include a lack of recycling bins, equipment not being regularly cleaned, ongoing construction without membership discounts, and specific incidents such as an unprofessional/racist front desk staff member and a member taking inappropriate photos, leading some to cancel their memberships.

Pickleball rules this gym. If you plan on bringing your kids for basketball change your plans as they will kick you out and reserve the court for pickleball several times a week. Even in the summer they can reserve the whole gym for 3 or 4 people. All this even though there are several pickleball courts outside available all day. They “pickle ballers” are also rude and typically try to bully young kids. The club is kept clean and staff is generally very nice but the fees do not match the amenities.
We re-joined the club in Feb. We love it since it is great location for the area resident and ample parking spot. They have added great new classes like Ignite and Hit. They also have outdoor classes so inside classes do not get crowded. The reason for 4 star is with being a huge place with cafeteria there is a big need for recycling bin and unfortunately they have none. I did complain to one of the staff and he said he is completely all for it and he has mentioned to the management. Also equipment in the inside need to be cleaned once in a while.
This gym is a beautiful and I like the big complex. I enjoyed the extra amenities. The gym equipment is rather dated and the gym was under construction when I was there but no discount was offered on the gym membership. The hours were limiting so no night work outs on weekends. One day when I was doing stretches in the stretching area and old man who is sitting at 3 ft across from me started taking photos of me while I was stretching with the flash on his phone. It made me really uncomfortable. This combination of things made me cancel my gym membership.
Location is good. Staff is good. Food is good. It’s a bad gym compared to any decent luxe gym. But better than anything nearby. Keeping this review focused on fixable things. Equipments old. Embarrassingly so for an $800 a month membership. Hours are unpredictable and short for the price Renovations keep addressing non-issues. More of the popular equipment needed (only 1 seated leg press and 2 bench presses and 1 usable pec fly machine—no one likes the elbow pad one as anyone who’s been to this gym frequently would know—but massive real estate devoted to things rarely used). Change out one of the six hammer machines in the back for another bench. Swap one of the four squat racks (which are never all occupied during peak hours because the demographic leans super old) for another seated leg press (almost always in use) There could definitely be more good equipment at the weird reception desk (one inside weight area) that I’ve literally never seen anyone at other than to clean in 2 years. Huge waste of space. 10 Row machines all of which are rarely used. It’s just a really inefficient use of space all around. Like there’s 10 row machines but no crunch/ab machine upstairs? Recently stayed at a hotel with a better gym than this (using less space). Outdoor weights almost always have bird feces on them but that area is otherwise a nice feature. A bench out there would be nice.
My friend told me about the Bay club and I want to check the place to become a new member. However, the front desk receptionist’s whose name was ILee, she was unprofessional and racist, she tried to stop us from entering the facility, she told my friend she was blocked from the facility. Even the she already was a member in the northside of California coast area Bay club and she used the facility on Friday. She also told us the cafe was already closed for Easter Sunday. Went my friend asked to speak with the manager, she offered to get someone to give us a quick tour. We agreed to the tour; the second lady Tatum was amazing even though was getting off in five minutes. We found out that the cafe was still open. After dealing with ILee I decided to take my business to another place. It seems the African-Americans and Native Americans are not good enough to be members at this location.
