Operated by the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department, it provides a community resource for various swimming activities, including recreational open swim, lap swimming, and swim lessons.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Del Cerro Pool is a residents-only facility offering a pool, tennis court, basketball court, and a mini playground. However, reviews indicate significant dissatisfaction, primarily due to the pool's frequent and prolonged closures, even during favorable weather, for reasons such as repairs, off-season, or other issues. Members and interested neighbors express extreme frustration with the difficulty of obtaining memberships, often being told there is no space or waitlist, despite the facility appearing underutilized when open. The facility is described as run-down and in need of updates and repairs, with suggestions that allowing more members could provide necessary funds. Additionally, some users mention being regularly scolded about rules and question the management of the pool.

This is RESIDENTS ONLY. Del Cerro Pool has a gate that is only accessed with a key that residents get. There is also a tennis court, basketball court and mini playground area.
We were members before moving. Sadly, for most of the year we were unable to use the pool due to it constantly being closed. Whether it was for repairs, weather or just "off-season", it seemed to always be something. I would suggest the board consider allowing more members in order to bring in more funds for much needed updates and repairs. The few times we were able take use of it, there was never more than 5-10 people there.
I’m honestly pretty disappointed to leave this review. We’ve been members for over five years (using a throw away account to avoid retaliation) and while the club is convenient and reasonably clean, the hurdles the owner creates for new people to get memberships seem unnecessarily extreme. The facility itself is run down—you’d think bringing in a few new members might help fix some of that. On top of that, it’s mid-March, 70 degrees outside, and the pool is closed. For comparison, I’m writing this while sitting poolside at my sister-in-law’s Scripps Ranch Tennis Club, which is fully open.
Great pool if you like it closed for too long in winter and get scolded about the rules regularly when it is open. Lovely welcoming place. You’re correct. I’m not anymore.
