The aquatic center receives high praise for its swimming classes, with many reviewers commending the "amazing" and "awesome" instructors and staff involved in these programs. Some users also appreciate the facility's lap lanes and the aquatic physical therapy services. However, there are significant criticisms regarding the overall cleanliness, with reports of "disgusting" water and "gross" or "outdated" locker rooms and showers that suffer from poor water pressure. General management and some staff members (distinct from the swim class instructors) are frequently described as rude, mean, lazy, and uncaring, particularly towards seniors. Reviewers also express frustration over inconvenient operating hours, noting the pool closes daily from 2:30 PM to 4 PM and on weekends, which some perceive as outdated pandemic hours, leading to calls for better utilization, improved management, and facility upgrades from the city of Chula Vista.

My kids have been doing swimming classes since last spring. The instructors are amazing.
This aquatic center is pretty cool. They have 6 lanes for laps. Max deep in the other area is 4'6". The shower area is kind of small, and they do not have lockers. There are plenty of dressing rooms, though. They have aquatic physical therapy here, and so far, I have enjoyed the visits I have had.
The water here is disgusting it hasn't been probably changed in 20 years. The staff is mid. Lazy. Locker room gross Chula Vista do better and redo this whole place please. I saw a maintenance guy and I was like what have you even done
The lady in charge of the pool is mean and rude. Many seniors with walkers, canes and wheels chairs but she still doesn't care. Maybe she's been working there for long time and she thinks she's the owner of the community pool. Why would the pool closes from 2.30pm to 4pm and close on weekends? Seems like they are still operating on the pandemic hours! The city of Chula Vista has the funding to hire lifeguards to keep the pool open but it seems to spend their investment at the wealthy East Lake areas only. The outdated showers/ Lockers are so outdated, you cannot even bring your own lock. There's no water pressure in the shower 🚿, when more than one person is using it, the water seems to be dripping out only. Please hire new supervisor and make the community pool fully utilize and run by people who are customer focus. The YMCA can afford to hire 6 lifeguards for a pool smaller than this pool, the city of Chula Vista has a bigger budget than the YMCA. This community pool is under utilized in the middle of the downtown area, poor management is not helping, the basketball court is always empty around 2.30pm but it's open. When I tried to ask a question, the management was hiding in the office and passed the word to the young colleagues to answer.
Great place for swim Clases. Awesome staff.
