What are people saying (AI review summary)? Aquatech receives mixed reviews, with many parents noting their children enjoy the classes and overcome water-related fears. The facility is praised for being clean, offering amenities like a snack bar, play area, and dedicated parking, and instructors are generally described as polite, knowledgeable, and good with kids. There's also appreciation for a system that tracks skill progression and helpful staff like Luis. However, significant concerns are raised about customer service, particularly a lack of empathy and rigidity regarding make-up tokens for medical emergencies. The facility is frequently described as very crowded, leading to issues with limited cubby space, long lines for showers and changing stations, and high noise levels. Additionally, class sizes are considered large for the price and duration, and the inability to use soap in public showers is a drawback for those with chlorine-sensitive skin.

We had a great experience at the school. They have a great system of letting you know what skills your child mastered.we had a few teachers and everyone was knowledgeable and knew how to act with kids. Luis, one of the Managers, was always very helpful and friendly.
Been coming to Aquatech for a while now and my daughter loves it. I really like their small classes, great facility and great makeup token policy. Highly recommend
I was extremely disappointed with Aquatech’s customer service. My daughter had a sudden medical emergency on the way to her swim class, and instead of showing understanding, the staff refused to issue a make-up token. Their phone number doesn’t even allow you to leave a voicemail, so in the middle of an ER situation, I wasn’t going to pull over to fill out an online absence form. I even offered to provide medical documentation, but that still wasn’t considered “good enough.” After going back and forth via email, I finally got a call back from the supervisor, Lea, only after repeatedly requesting to speak with someone. When she did call, she was dismissive and rude, reading policies word for word without any compassion for our situation. For a place that works with children and families, the lack of empathy was shocking. Families deserve better treatment in circumstances beyond their control. Do your family a favor and find another swim school. They clearly don’t seem to care.
Yikes this place is so crowded. When we got there, there was no cubby space left, so I had to hoist my backpack on the very top of the cubbies (I'm 6 months pregnant). You cannot use soap in the public showers, they only have public showers. So if you or your children have chlorine sensitive skin, you can only rinse with water- no soap. There are lines for everything: showers, bathrooms, changing stations, steps for the pool, yikes! Also swim lessons are $24/lesson for 25 minutes of instruction, with 15 other students. So there's a total of 30 people per lesson in the pool for ages under 3 (parents swim with children), which is the last 1/8 of the pool. The are other lessons in every single lane going on at the same time, so it's also very loud.
We've got both of our daughters coming here for weekly classes. The girls love it and one of them who is afraid of getting water in her hair is no longer afraid. Facility is clean, instructors although mostly young are very polite and seem to love what they do. They have a little snack bar with some beverages and food for both kids and adults while you're waiting for your class to complete. They also have some big screen TVs and a little play area for the toddlers so they can watch a movie or play with some toys while adults can watch the NBA or whatever is on. There's a set of lockers at dedicated parking lot and showers and changing booths. A great setup. Located right outside the Webster tube for those who live outside of Alameda.
