Well-equipped, 60,000-sq-ft health club featuring state-of-the-art fitness equipment, plus social events.
Bay Club Marin features a lap pool and a kids' splash pad. While specific temperatures for this location are not publicly detailed, similar high-end fitness clubs typically maintain their lap pools at a comfortable range for swimming, often around 80-82°F (27-28°C). Kids' recreational aquatic areas are generally kept slightly warmer for comfort.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Bay Club receives mixed reviews, with significant concerns regarding its facilities alongside appreciation for its community and certain staff members. Recurring negative feedback highlights severe maintenance issues, including persistent air conditioning failures causing uncomfortably high temperatures (over 80°F) and an associated mildew/mold smell. Members report outdated and often malfunctioning equipment, rusty free weights, unclean cardio machines, and strong sewer odors from locker room and sauna drains, raising health and hygiene concerns. Many feel that the club prioritizes profit over member experience, pointing to unfulfilled renovation promises (like the publicized 2025 project) and increasing dues without visible improvements, describing the infrastructure as 'crumbling.' Some staff are perceived as overwhelmed, leading to slow response times, and locker rooms are frequently criticized for being outdated and unsanitary. Conversely, positive aspects include a strong sense of community and a friendly vibe among members. The large gym floor ensures that members rarely wait for equipment, and there is a diverse group-fit calendar offering various classes. Staff are generally described as friendly, and towels are plentiful. Specific employees, such as Ivan in the Men's Locker Room at Bay Club Marin, are consistently singled out for their exceptional professionalism, hard work, attention to detail, and for keeping their areas clean and organized, significantly enhancing the member experience. Overall, while the club offers a good community and variety, it is seen as needing substantial investment in maintenance, infrastructure upgrades, and equipment renewal to match its pricing and member expectations.

The only thing worse than the facility being over 80°F due to years of recurring A/C failures (this is not a one-time issue) is the smell when there’s no air circulation... a clear sign of mildew and likely mold. This facility is outdated, and it shows. The equipment is old and often malfunctioning. The locker room drains... including the sauna drain... emit strong sewer odors. These are health and hygiene concerns. Bay Club continues to show patterns that suggest profit is prioritized over member experience. If that weren’t the case, what happened to the publicized 2025 renovation project? Dues are increasing again in January, yet there’s nothing to show for it. When members say the locker rooms are dirty or unsanitary, it’s not a reflection of the hardworking staff. The truth is, the facilities themselves are crumbling. No amount of cleaning can fix old, broken infrastructure. And of course...We’ve seen the response pattern before...a VP will likely ask for “offline” communication to avoid public accountability.
Review for Ivan – Bay Club Marin (Men’s Locker Room, Afternoon Shift) Ivan does a great job in the men’s locker room during the afternoon shift at Bay Club Marin. He keeps the area clean, organized, and always carries himself professionally. His hard work and attention to detail really make a Difference . Ahmad fillabi
I've been hitting the gym club for a few months now, and I've gotta say, it's been a wild ride. The members are a mixed bag, but I've met some cool folks who share my fitness goals and self thoughts. The vibe is pretty chill, and everyone seems to be there for their own reasons, whether it's to get swole or just get moving. I've had some great conversations with people about workout routines and goals, and it's nice to feel like I'm part of a community. That being said, the club itself could use some TLC. The equipment is decent, but some of the machines are getting a bit worn out. I've noticed some of the free weights are rusty, and the cardio machines could use a good cleaning, steam shower it’s one of the favorite’s but not as clean as needs to be.. The staff it’s been nothing but helpful, but they seem a bit overwhelmed. I've had to ask for help a few times, and it's taken them a while to get to me. Overall, I'd say the gym club has potential, but it needs quite a bit of maintenance to meet the standards of theirs prices, If they can get the equipment, maintaince, and staff sorted out, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a chill gym vibe. Rating: 3.5/5 stars. do I want to stick around? Yeah, probably. But hopefully, they'll get their lack of improvement to the right standards done soon and properly. sincerely thanks to the ones the care about it like Ivan and a couple other folks for sure!
Ivan is amazing he is always upbeat and does an incredible job . He is most hard working person at the club and they should do their best to hold on to such a valued employee. Makes bay club much more enjoyable seeing him there !
Not too bad but could use some improvement. Huge floor packed with cardio + weights, so I almost never wait, and the group-fit calendar is loaded—yoga, HIIT, Pilates, you name it. Staff friendly, towels plentiful. Only gripe: locker rooms feel straight-up 1995. Tip: weekday mid-afternoons are blissfully empty.
