Kid-friendly fitness club with pools, tennis courts and exercise classes that span yoga to Pilates.
The swimming pools at Bay Club Rolling Hills (Novato) are typically heated and maintained at comfortable temperatures for year-round enjoyment. While specific degree temperatures are generally not publicly advertised, members can expect suitable conditions for swimming in all seasons.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews reveal a mixed, but predominantly negative, sentiment regarding the club, particularly after the Bay Club's takeover of Rolling Hills. Positive experiences highlight motivating fitness classes, effective coaching, strong camaraderie, and a welcoming environment for families, with helpful reservation systems and appreciation for specific staff members like Kevin and Corleen. However, significant issues are raised, including serious accusations of discrimination against disabled and visually impaired individuals by staff across various departments, leading to feelings of being 'other' and 'less than.' Other widespread complaints concern consistently disgusting towels, with allegations of not using detergent or bleach, and a general decline in facility quality. Specific problems post-takeover include increased rates, degraded service, a poor maintenance program (e.g., flooding, broken sauna and pool heater, unsuitable floor mats, incorrect dispenser fillings, 'trashy' lighting, and a pool under construction with no visible work), non-existent communication regarding complaints, and a perception that management is company-focused rather than customer-focused. While front desk staff are generally praised, many advise looking elsewhere until management improves.

Having lived in Novato for six years, I was always interested in joining Rolling Hills. When my extended family recently moved into town, we signed up for the Flex Plan, and it has been one of the best decisions. I’ve been focused on my weight loss journey(25 lbs down), and the morning classes—especially Dash—are incredibly motivating. The coaches’ attention to form has made a noticeable difference, and the culture of camaraderie keeps me coming back. After just two months, I’m already seeing results.
Steer clear of this place if you are disabled or visually impaired! I have never been discriminated against like I have here at the Bay Club. I’m wondering, are all of the staff members trained to discriminate? Because that’s what I experienced: from dealing with the front desk, membership and even their kids club, I have never felt so ‘other,’ and ‘less than,’ in any situation, ever, in my entire life. It’s a real shame because their pools are great and I would benefit using their facility. It’s not even about the money, it’s principle, because being treated like I don’t belong, makes it not worth it.
The towels are disgusting. Although the staff has been advised and higher up’s informed, the company continues to provide towels that look like they have not been cleaned. According to some staff members, the company does not use detergent or bleach.
Such a gem! My family and I have had such an excellent experience at Rolling Hills so far. Kevin, Corleen and the members have made us feel right at home from the start. The reservation system for both the pools and tennis is so helpful, and they seem to be doing a great job making sure everyone is feeling safe during this crazy time. So glad to have found it!
Since the bay club took over Rolling hills this location has gone down hill. It costs more as they increased their rates and the service has degraded. Their maintenance program is poor. Their communication after making suggestions /complaints is non-existent. They do not appear to care about customer satisfaction. We have had female cleaners in the men's locker room, benches removed from the men's locker room (no place to sit), Flooding in the men's locker room for weeks, Consistently running out of towels, the Old floor mats were removed from locker rooms and from the showers and new ones put in.... But laughably the new ones you need to wear a pair of boots to stand on them because they belong in a fish processing plant not in a shower. (very hard on the feet), Soap and conditioner containers went empty and when they were filled they were filed the wrong way. (soap was in the conditioner and conditioner in the soap dispenser) We now have a collage of super bright and cold lights amongst the warm lights in the fitness room... hard on the eyes and looks pretty trashy. The men's sauna has been broken down for week and a 1/2.... Now the pool heater is out.... One pool is under construction not available... No visible work being done on it. Just an overall poor maintenance program. The bright side is the front desk people are awesome. If you're looking for a fitness center I would look elsewhere until Management Gets in touch with its customers. They are very company focused and not customer focused. I used to enjoy a tea or a coffee after my workout... they're stopping that now as well...
