What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for Cannon Pool are mixed, though many highlight positive aspects. Patrons consistently praise the pool's cleanliness, the availability of lockers, and the general attentiveness and kindness of the staff and lifeguards. Several long-term visitors commend the staff as 'awesome' and appreciate the lifeguards' quick responses to issues. Special recognition was given to a manager for going 'above and beyond' in caring for her staff, ensuring their comfort during their shifts. However, significant negative experiences were also reported. Some found the staff and lifeguards to be overly strict and impolite, constantly correcting children even when rules were being followed and parents were present, leading to a lack of enjoyment. A particularly strong complaint involved alleged discrimination against a neurodivergent child, where lifeguards inconsistently questioned the safety of a previously approved life jacket, causing the child distress and ultimately leading the family to leave the facility.

My kids love this pool. It is super clean and taken care of the bathroom/shower area is very clean and not dirty and I love how they have lockers to lock up your belongings if you need to inside and outside of the building witch is perfect so I can keep a eye on mine and my kids belongings. Cannon pool is Well taken care of by their hired staff. The lifeguards they pay attention to everyone an act fast if a problem does arise. In the pool or outside of the pool. I feel safe letting my oldest go alone to this place because I know they are going to be looked over and taken care of if something happens. Thank you cannon staff your amazing:)
We have been coming to this pool for 5yrs now. Staff is always awesome. Life guards are always so kind and helpful. Although this year I just want to say the young lady that is the manager is amazing. She goes above and beyond for her staff. Today she was out there switching cooling towels on all her life guards and checking in on them. I've also seen her offering to spray them down. I've never personally talked to her but I just want to give her a shout-out for doing such a good job.
Crowded and rowdy but we very much enjoyed opening day. The lifeguards had thier work cut out for them but they we're super chill. 😎
Normally our experience at Spokane pools are positive and fun but at Cannon pool today the life guards and staff were very strict and impolite. Always correcting our kids even when we were right next to them, helping them, and following the rules. They would glare at us when we would say we are here helping them. Our kids and us didn't have any fun because of all the corrections. It felt like the staff didn't want anyone to have fun and not swim.
They discriminate against neurodivergent children. Not once this entire summer at any other aquatic center have I been asked about my kids life jackets. When entering I said fine and let them check them because I figured safety is important. They said that they were coast guard approved so we continued to the pool. Once we got there we swam for a little bit and suddenly we were swarmed by 3 or 4 different lifeguards. Asking about her life jacket and saying it may be too big or what not and I said okay it was just checked, what's wrong with it? They were just acting on the fence about it and not really giving any straight answers so I don't know why they were making a big deal about it yet again after it had already been checked. Making my daughter cry and confused thinking she did something wrong. Even though I tried explaining to her, it can be hard as in previously mentioned because she's neurodivergent. That is why she was wearing a life jacket in the first place. It makes her feel comfortable and safe. Also she likes to float for the sensory input of it, that's the main reason she likes the pool. She was within an arms reach of me the entire time. There were ZERO other children or babies with any sort of life saving device whatsoever. Many running freely and splashing people, yet somehow my kid sitting in 2ft of water was a problem. We had to leave because they made her so sad and uncomfortable. I will not return to this location again.
