What are people saying (AI review summary)? The swimming facility is generally praised for its friendly and helpful staff and good coaches, who help children build confidence and enjoy their sessions, especially with a dedicated wading pool for smaller kids and a comfortable water temperature. It offers a large swimming area with a deep end and two diving boards. However, the facility is frequently described as old and lacking modern amenities, leading to calls for investment in a new public pool in the West Plains area. Some drawbacks include the difficulty in booking future sessions due to staff hiring practices and a required swim test for deep end access or diving board use.

The staff is friendly and helpful. My kids were instantly at ease with their instructors. The swimming sessions are slow in progression so it's not intimidating, and my kids built confidence quickly. The staff is hired as needed, so can be difficult to book the next session . An added complication is having two different levels of swimmers.
Not a lot of outdoor pools in the West Plains, which is weird. We go here for summer swim lessons. It's ok. It's old, been here forever. No bells or whistles. Great little toddlers pool. Cheney definitely should invest in a new fun public pool.
Large swimming area, two diving boards, separate wading pool for smaller kids. Water temperature was comfortable even though temperature was in the low to mid 70's.
Kids have lots of fun, good coaches
Decent sized pool with deep end and two diving board's. You need to take a swimmers test before you can enter the deep end or use the diving board's. So that's kind of a bummer.
