I'm making this review after leaving once before for an issue and coming back and hoping it would be resolved but I can see at this point it wasn't both times I was signed up by their manager Derek he lied to me both times on multiple different issues. I am canceling this subscription and I will never come back but let's go ahead and go into some details. They told me if the money wasn't there they wouldn't overdraft it my account they did. They actually went off of my old account. Grab my routing information and pushed it through there which apparently was still in the system from 2021. I signed up October of last year with my card only so this wouldn't be an issue but apparently they find a back door workaround if they can. I was also told that I would get a $600 in-store credit towards anything in the gym which was a lie as well cuz apparently that just means four more personal trainer sessions, not anything else. I hope that people read this thing and that you take heed in it and at least if you're going to sign up, find somebody that isn't. Derek

UPDATE 7/30/25 - one year and they still have not fixed the air. It’s currently 88 degrees in the cardio area. It s been hot all summer. This places seems to be set on putting themself out of business. On a Wednesday at 4:30pm you would expect there to be more than 10 cars in the parking lot. Genesis, unfortunately, falls short in providing a comfortable and well-maintained workout environment. The main issue which they refuse to address is the dysfunctional air conditioning system. This has been an ongoing issue for years and seems to have gotten worse. It used to only get hot in the gym during the summer but now it’s almost always uncomfortable unless it’s cold out. The upstairs as well as the group fitness room are unbearably hot. Group fitness classes are one of the reasons why I’ve kept my membership but when it gets over 70 degrees outside it is not worth being miserable working out in a hot swampy room. Many pieces of equipment have been out of service for weeks. Towel service is very spotty and there are rarely towels to wipe down equipment. Overall, while Genesis Gym may have potential, its failure to address fundamental issues like air conditioning and equipment maintenance greatly diminishes its appeal. Until these issues are resolved, patrons may want to explore other fitness options in the area.

I love this gym. With how busy my schedule is, I can easily go as late as I want, whenever I want on weekdays. The facility is always clean, there’s always a sweet lady that keeps it in clean and she’s always so friendly. Great service, I always feel great leaving there.

Stoked to join the Genesis Health Clubs - Springfield South family! Karyssa & Jake are always welcoming guests with a warm smile & friendly conversation. Lindsey provided a lovely tour of the facilities (they have a full length lap pool, hot tub & steam room), made the enrollment process super smooth & has offered continued support learning the portal, including G-Perks (discounted products & services- I can’t wait to take advantage of travel savings!). You get free fitness consulting credits with your membership to start with! Sean has been an extremely knowledgeable personal trainer going above & beyond with nutritional education & overall life encouragement. Group exercise classes are also included & there are so many to choose from. With the gym open 7 days a week, 24 hours on week days & late night on weekends, it offers the flexibility for almost any schedule. I’m excited for our shared process in such a short time already, looking forward to a more fit & healthy future 💪

If I could give them 10/5 stars I would. Derek was the one who convinced me to come in and start a membership. Both gyms are clean and are a comforting environment to lift in. The above and beyond though goes to the ladies working the child care section at both locations. The Northside is great but the Southside treats my kids like their own, I have an immunocompromised 3 year old with ALL cancer. I have not once felt more comfortable dropping my kids off anywhere for two hours. My boys love it and I'm not great with words but watching them do something together that keeps them involved brings a tear to my eye. I'm beyond impressed with Genesis. You guys have my forever loyalty. No doubt. Thank you guys!
