The Donald M. Wade Aquatic Center, located at 5305 Piney Church Rd, Waldorf, MD, is a public indoor aquatic facility serving the Charles County community. It features a six-lane, 25-yard competition pool, a leisure pool with zero-depth entry, two large waterslides, and various splash features, along with a whirlpool. The center offers opportunities for lap swimming, recreational activities, swim lessons, and water fitness programs.
Specific pool temperatures for the Donald M. Wade Aquatic Center are not readily available on its official public-facing website. However, for similar aquatic facilities, competition pools are typically maintained around 78-82°F (25-28°C), leisure pools between 82-86°F (28-30°C), and whirlpools generally range from 100-104°F (38-40°C).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The facility is highly praised for its cleanliness, especially the pool, and the professional, kind, and amazing staff, with specific recognition for the pool manager and Miss Nasja regarding swimming lessons. While it's highly recommended for solo adults and divers due to excellent diving boards, a heated therapy pool, and a hot tub, the experience for families with children is mixed. Concerns were raised about the small, cold kiddy pool and the 'freezing' temperature of the main all-ages swimming section. Several areas have age restrictions (18+ or 2 and under). There's also a suggestion to extend closing hours to 6 PM during the school season.

The staff was very professional and kind.
I love how clean it is and the staff are nice and the pool is never dirty 😍😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
It's nice if you're a solo adult or are going just to dive. They had a small kiddy pool that was a bit colder than expected and really only accommodates very young children. On the opposite side they had a heated therapy pool with an attached (fairly large) hot tub. This pool is 18+ or 2 and under. Then finally they have two large pools in the middle. One is a diving section with multiple boards, absolutely splendid if you enjoy diving. The other section was split with one part being for lap swimmers also 18+. The other part was having a canoeing class. Once the canoes disbanded they allowed all ages to swim in that section, which would've been amazing had the water not been absolutely freezing. So in conclusion if you are an adult and are going without children I would give it 5 stars but if you are under 18 or are accompanying children that rating drops to 1 or 2 stars.
My daughter had swimming lessons here and the staff was amazing and very professional. I only wish my schedule allowed her to be able to return for the next classes because we would surely have signed up. The pool manager and Miss Nasja are great!
It would be great, if you consider to extend the closing time to 6 PM during the school seasons.
