What are people saying (AI review summary)? Flaherty Pool receives strong praise for its exceptional and dedicated staff, particularly Marco, an instructor frequently highlighted for his encouraging, skilled coaching that significantly improved swimmers' techniques, breathing, and confidence. Coach Denise is also mentioned as a phenomenal instructor. The facilities are generally described as pristine, with a very clean pool and locker rooms, contributing to a positive swimming and learning environment. However, a significant recurring complaint involves visitors parking unsafely on the sidewalk next to the children's playground, despite an available parking lot, and dissatisfaction with staff's dismissive responses to this issue.
Reviews
I just realized that I already reviewed and rated Flaherty pool. But I would be selling the place short if I didn't mention one of its remarkable staff, Marco! This guy is a jack of all trades and master of all! I learned to swim over a year ago at Flaherty, taught by the phenomenal coach Denise! But, I and continued to swim because of Marco's encouragement. He corrected my breathing, stroke and many aspects of my swimming to a point where I am relaxed and swimming laps! Thank you SO much, Marco!
I visited the pool for a bit of swimming practice. A lifeguard/instructor, Marco, noticed me and asked if I would like a few pointers. With his knowledge and enthusiastic support, within 10 minutes I was able to strengthen my mind body connection, feel more confident in the water, and significantly improve my weakest skills (breathing and treading). Undoubtedly an excellent teacher! Overall friendly staff and clean facilities.
I just don't understand why visitors continually park on the sidewalk next to the kids' playground. It's unnecessary given that there's a parking lot and unsafe when the children are out. Asked the attendant inside why people keep parking on the sidewalks every week. The response, "It's the aquatic class. It's always like that." Terrible Boston culture. These are the same people you're swimming with. Used to like this pool. Came over here because the life guards let the teenagers splash and disrupt lap swim at Leahy/Holloran lap swim in Dorchester along Morrissey. Not great.
Great staff. Pool is pristine. Very clean locker room. Nice group of swimmers.
Great staff! Great pool! I learn to swim here under a fantastic coach and very helpful and dedicated staff! Thank you! Thank you!
