Public swimming pool with a kids' section.
As a public outdoor pool, McPherson Pool is generally unheated, and its water temperature fluctuates naturally with the ambient air temperature and sun exposure throughout the summer season. Specific temperature data is typically not published, as it is not a consistently maintained temperature.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for the pool present a mixed but largely positive picture. Many visitors praise its cleanliness, comfortable water temperature, and friendly, attentive lifeguards, often highlighting the free entry and well-maintained facilities, including a playground. Some appreciate the strictness that prevents unruly behavior. However, several significant concerns were raised. One reviewer reported an incident where rough playing led to a visitor's injury and the pool's subsequent closure, calling for stricter enforcement. Another highly criticized an arrogant pool manager who parked unsafely near children and showed no remorse after almost hitting an infant. There was also a complaint about a late opening for the season in a particular year. Despite these issues, many still consider it a valuable and 'amazing' community resource, especially on hot days.

My hotel pool was closed so I googled places to swim in Lowell and happily found this pool listed. On a 95f day I found a nice parking spot under a big shady tree and walked right into the pool for free then swam for about an hour and was happy as a clam. The lifeguards were all very friendly. Somebody came over and shouted “free ice cream for everyone over by the basketball courts”, so that was a big hit! Then I had a nice rinse before leaving. What a lucky town Lowell is to have this big well-maintained pool. Loved it. Thank you!!
What a great day at the pool with my 21 month grandson! Lifeguards were so nice, cleanliness of the water and area to put a blanket down was great, pool temp was absolutely amazing! I hope to get there a few more times before this summer ends!
I love how strict it is..you don't hear swearing, rude teenagers like the ones at north common, tons of rough playing. Today they hurt a lady, ambulance took her. Turns out it was her own kids hit her when they kept grabbing each other and tossing themselves in the pool, Lucky they didn't hit a child! They need to kick people out like this. Because of this group, they closed the pool on a 92° DAY! ( 8.1.24.) So we will be back to peaceful McPherson pool! Bring umbrellas for outside of fence, kids playground is cute!
NAMMYOHORENGEKYO Namaste 🙏 Mrs. T.W.JIMENEZZZ & MR. T.W.JIMENEZZZ OP3N JULY 1ST EVERY YR. Almost a month late this year 2025 from 2024. Because of this you lost a star but other than that you guys are still amazing
Very arrogant “pool managers.” They guy who drives the Red Hyundai with NH plates. He parked on the grass right where the kids were playing. Went about his business because he is part of the “management”. As he was leaving an infant ran towards his car, some kind people were lucky to see the baby and grab her before an accident happened. When the ladies spoke to him of his despicable behavior he was arrogant enough to say that the parent saw him head to his car and that he can is part of the pool management. Did not even care an inch to apologize or even check on the baby. So disgusting! Overall the park is great, awesome lifeguards and clean play ground
