Three pools are available at this public swimming facility, which is good for children.
The pool's water temperature is typically maintained at a comfortable 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit (26-28 degrees Celsius).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews present a mixed but largely critical view of the pool. Positive feedback highlights the welcoming, helpful, and attentive staff, especially lifeguards, and notes the presence of three beautiful pools enjoyed by children. However, several significant issues are raised. These include facility problems such as the family pool being consistently cold and crowded, the overall grimy condition, and difficult-to-use showers with inconsistent water temperatures (either boiling hot or freezing cold). Major safety and supervision concerns were reported, including an incident involving a man in the girls' changing room and a traumatic childhood swim lesson experience where an instructor's actions nearly led to a child drowning, resulting in lasting trauma. Additionally, children's swim lessons are widely criticized for being ineffective, taught by untrained or uninterested high school students, offering minimal instruction, and frequently ending early. Finally, adult lap swim hours have been drastically reduced post-Covid, making the facility impractical for many adult swimmers.

The family pool is always too cold and crowded. I saw a man coming out of the girls' changing room when there were a dozen young girls in it.
This is a great pool... BUT...since after Covid, they've been progressively reducing the hours available for adult lap swims to the point where it is no longer workable, now, barely more than an hour/day, or à couple of hours on week-ends. So sad. It had been a great community health resource.
Highly recommend War Memorial Pool. Every single member of the staff we encountered - from the management, to the front desk, to the life guards - was so welcoming and helpful. The life guards were attentive and approachable, and supported the young children in my group in taking the swim test so they could try out the awesome diving board. There are three beautiful pools that the kids loved.
Grimy public pool. The showers are very difficult to use. Water in showers is either boiling lava hot or cold. Would not recommend children’s swim lessons, taught by untrained/uninterested high school students. There’s very little instruction. In a recent level 2 class, for example, my kid got to swim twice. The rest of the time he was holding onto the side of the pool, shivering. He now dislikes swim lessons (he loved them when we went to another location). They also end the lessons early, so your “half hour” lesson ends up being 20 mins at most.
When I was a kid about 5 or 6 years old I was learning how to tread water in the deep end and the instructor was a male instructor and when I was having trouble with it I hung on to his back to support and he just removed my hands off his back and into the water and I went deep and I thought I was gonna drown but luckily I was able to surface back up but I was pissed at him for doing that to me that is not ok and shouldn't be allowed for instructors to do that to kids I yelled at him and told him he was fired and left the pool when I came back though a nice female instructor took over and things were better but still it traumatized me for life and now because of him and that experience I have trust issues with men and are very cautious around all of them and it's all his fault!!! I hope he is still fired today.
