Outdoor salt-water pool featuring laps, a slide, and diving boards, plus views of Puget Sound.
The saltwater pool at Colman Pool is consistently heated and maintained at approximately 85 degrees Fahrenheit (around 29-30 degrees Celsius) for comfortable swimming.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Colman Pool is highly praised for its beautiful and unique saltwater setting on Puget Sound, offering amazing views and a perfect spot to relax in the summer. Adult admission typically ranges from $6.50 to $7.50 for a 1.5-hour session, and the facility provides amenities like loungers and lockers. While many appreciate the water temperature and space for recreation (noted as 50M by some), the session system can be a significant point of frustration; one reviewer found it confusing, expensive ($15 for two sessions), and noted mandatory exits between sessions. Lap swimmers may find it less ideal due to an unclear length (between 25-50 yards) and an 'intense' atmosphere. Access involves a short walk from the lower parking lot, and checking the schedule is recommended. Staff are generally described as friendly and professional.

Colman Pool has to be in the most beautiful setting I’ve seen for a public pool, and I appreciate its uniqueness in location and saltwater. However, the experience left a lot to be desired. First off, the session system is confusing and frustrating. You have to pay 1.5 hour session, but if you come in the middle or near the end, you either have to wait or pay for two sessions. I showed up not realizing this, and decided to pay for two sessions so I didn’t have to wait. But in between sessions, all swimmers have to exit the pool, and a lifeguard comes around to collect tickets. It was not clear when I paid that I would be expected to hand them a ticket. In the end, I spent $15 for what should have been a simple public pool visit. Second, if you are lap swimming, this is not an ideal pool. The pool itself is in between 25 and 50 yards is not clearly marked the length, with serious lap swimmers dominating the lanes. The vibe felt a little intense instead of welcoming. The water is also quite warm. Overall, between the strange ticketing system, short sessions, and the higher-than-expected cost, this wasn’t as enjoyable as I hoped.
Came here on labor day. Great view of the water and plenty of room for recreation swimming (50M length really makes a difference). There were lots of loungers to put your stuff by the pool, but they also have lockers in the locker room.
Perfect place to relax and enjoy the summer! The water temperature is perfect. The view is amazing. Price for adult is $7.50 for 1.5h. Deck chairs are free:)
How do you even describe to people what this place is? A bonkers pool on the end of a peninsula after a big dense forest on Puget Sound in SW Seattle? What?
