High school pool (also open to the public) featuring swimming lessons, water polo and lap lanes.
The facility typically maintains its main lap pool at a comfortable temperature of approximately 80-82°F (26.7-27.8°C). A separate, warmer instructional or therapy pool is also available, usually heated to about 88-90°F (31.1-32.2°C) for lessons and therapeutic use.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The South Kitsap Community Pool has undergone a highly successful and praised renovation, significantly improving the lighting, HVAC systems, and locker rooms. The facility now features a permanent 25-meter shallow pool (3.5-4.5 ft) and an all-deep competitive end (7.5-12 ft) with two diving boards. A non-removable bulkhead means 50-meter training is no longer available. Despite this, the pool is considered a top-notch facility, offering various swim times including open swim and early morning lap swim, and is generally not crowded. Fees are affordable ($3.50/person, $10/family, $5 for lap swim), with payment accepted via cash (exact change encouraged as none is given) or card. The water is clean, bright, and well-staffed with lifeguards. Located at the high school, the main drawbacks noted were difficulties with swim lesson sign-ups and specific rules about floaties and diving toys.

It was exciting to visit the rejuvenated South Kitsap Community Pool. The long wait was worth it. The “new” pool is a great improvement over the previous incantation. The most noticeable changes were the improvements in the lighting and HVAC systems, along with vast improvements in the locker rooms and office area. The previous competitive swimming area has been revamped to reflect a permanent shallow pool (3.5-4.5 foot depth). I was told this shallow pool is 25 meters long. The competing portion of the pool is all deep, going from 7.5-12 feet. The starting blocks are located on the bulkhead. The bulkhead is not removable as in the past. This unfortunately means the option for 50 meter training and competition is no longer available . The Port Orchard community is blessed to have a top notch aquatics facility. It’s enough to give anyone pool envy. Take good care of this gem.
Great pool and price for open swim. Very few people there for the Sat noon swim, which is nice. Signing up for swim lessons was not easy. The parent store does not work consistently, and they would not let us sign up in person.
Newly renovated - great pool! Two diving boards, massive deep end, not crowded at all. Costs $3.50/person, cash or credit card. Water is clean and bright, plenty of lifeguards, showers all work. Great job on the remodel and keep up the good work!
The pool is located at the high school. I am glad they are offering recreational swim times several days during the week. The fees during my visit were $3.50 per person or $10 per family. They were not making change, so expect to bring exactly what you need to cover your fees... though they probably would accept donations to help fund the maintenance of the facilities and the folks that show up to keep everything safe. They also take payment via card. The pool rules are posted in the lobby area and around the pool area. Unposted things being enforced: • No floaties (including kick boards). • Diving toys can be used, but not thrown in the pool.
This is a great pool for lap swim for $5 at 5:30-7am every week day morning. It IS cold at first, but once you get going it’s the perfect temp.!
