Public swimming facility with diving boards and a lazy river, plus a wading pool and a snack bar.
The Dogwood Pool at the North Canton YMCA typically maintains a water temperature of 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately 26-28 degrees Celsius).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for this swimming pool are predominantly negative, citing numerous issues with staff, inconsistent rule enforcement, and pricing. Visitors frequently describe young, unprepared staff who struggle to manage conflicts between adults, fail to address inappropriate member behavior (e.g., yelling at children), and show preferential treatment to certain 'members' over general visitors. Many reviews highlight inconsistent pricing, with families experiencing sudden, unexpected price increases and confusion over membership statuses or 'band' access. While the pool itself is often described as large with varied depths and a nice kids' area, the concessions are noted as poor quality or frequently closed, and the facility is considered outdated. Several reviewers explicitly advise against visiting, recommending other pools due to these recurring problems.

A neighboring swimming pool is only $10 a person. The other pool also allows you to bring in your own toys, floaters, food & drink. Plus at the other pool, EVERY ONE is treated EQUALLY. I did read the comments for this pool. But after showing up here and seeing the commenters are being truthful and not just giving opinions, my family will not be back.
Finally sucked it up and paid the $16 fee, I've been going several times this summer. Myself with my 4 year old and two year old, along with my sister in law. It's been...okay. (Too many random weird problems with "members" making up rules and the life guards just letting them get away with it? Why are old people yelling at kids playing in the shallow end because they don't want to get splashed? Why are the life guards just watching children get yelled at by elderly for playing??) Randomly yesterday they decided to tell me they've been under charging me, and it's actually $32 for myself, a 4 year old and a 2 year old. I confirmed their birthdates every time we've gone and I've only ever paid $16. The attendant was NASTY when I told her that price was outrageous and I've never been charged that. $16 for a four year old?! Full price admission for someone who isn't even old enough to attend preschool?? So we paid $48 for two adults and two children (under 5) to get into the pool. Absolutely never again. It hasn't been updated since 2000, the concessions food is garbage and they're closed 90% of the time if you aren't a member. Go to another pool. Don't come here.
Very large pool, with a lot of different water depths. Also a nice kids area and a lot of grass area for sitting and relaxing. Had a Kona ice truck and concession stand. We went on a Tuesday and it was packed, a lot of people everywhere. $16 per adult for a day.
Do not come here! I was a green band for the past 2-3 years which gives you access to go into the deep ends of the pool. Randomly after those years their system says I am not a green band anymore. They said it shows up as no band so we called the YMCA and they said there is a note under my name that says Green Band 2023. They then said that our last names were our parents first names. They said they couldn’t give me the green band because they didn’t know who the person that got it was and they said my birthday was under my moms. They still refuse to give me the green band so I’m stuck with a yellow and they are making me do the swim test I passed 3 years ago. This place used to be good a couple of years ago and is now starting to become worse and worse every year we come. The pool itself is pretty nice but with all of this trouble and new systems and stuff like that I would advise you not to come to this pool and find somewhere else.
The pool and water itself are excellent. The very young staff are not prepared to deal with adult members and conflicts, however. A man was yelling at a teenage boy in the pool, threatening to smack him, cursing, etc... the lifeguards let it go on way too long, just staring like deer in headlights unsure of how to de-escalate the situation. I also observed members being treated differently than visitors. Dogwood is NOT a country club people. Stop it already! We tossed around the idea of a season pass but then we quickly realized, this is an over rated, teenage ran pool that we can't rely on the pubescent lifeguards to be in charge of adults. No thank you!
