Indoor Olympic-sized pool specializing in lap swimming, with an attached deck and locker rooms.
While specific, real-time pool temperatures are not consistently published for Danny Jones Pool, the indoor pool is generally heated to provide comfortable conditions for year-round use. Public indoor pools typically maintain water temperatures in the range of 80-84°F (26-29°C), but it's advisable to contact the facility directly for the most current information.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews present a mixed view of the facility. Many patrons praise its cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff, and excellent swim lessons, particularly for recreational swimmers, beginners, infants, and children. The pool is described as beautiful and having many lap lanes, a ramp, and life vests. However, long-time distance swimmers express significant disappointment with the facility's rebuild, noting it changed from a 50-meter pool to a 25-yard/meter pool, increased costs, and removed a key year-round 50m option in the area. Some operational issues were also reported, including inconsistent closing times for lap swimming and occasional staff unavailability to assist guests, though two lifeguards are typically on duty. A day pass costs $5 for adults, with a suggestion to bring cash due to credit card fees.

Good facility with a 25 meter pool. Lap swimming ends at 7:20 PM opposed to the posted 7:30 or Google Maps shown 8 PM. My issue was the counter clerk wasn't behind the counter for maybe ten minutes and her colleague couldn't tell me where they were nor buzz me and another guest into the pool. Once the counter clerk was there and charged me for a day pass, they told me they would be getting everyone out of the pool ten minutes before the posted closing (7:30). Pick one closing time and stick to it and have other people available to buzz people in!
Beautiful pool , friendly staff ! Great athletic facility !
For distance swimmers, this used to be an amazing complex. Cost efficient, well-maintained, year round, not unbelievably crowded, and the all important 50m.... then the party stopped when they rebuilt it to be 25 yards and increased the cost. Now, the only year-round option in the whole Charleston area for the all-important 50m is downtown at MLK or way out off Ashley Phosphate. I wish I had been on the decision board for this. The new facility is nice if you have infants, are a recreational swimmer, new to swimming, or are doing water aerobics. For the rest of us, we are haunted by the perfection that existed before.
Went there on a Saturday (March 1st, 2025). Open until 4:30pm. Closed on Sundays. Pool is amazing- huge with a ton of lap lanes and a ramp and life vests for children. 2 Life guards on duty the entire time. $5 per adult and I think kids are free. Totally worth it. Bring cash as there is a credit card fee.
We are thrilled with our experience at this pool. The swim lessons are phenomenal. Clean facility. Large swim area. Helpful staff.
