What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this pool are predominantly positive, highlighting its family-friendly atmosphere, diverse activities like slides and a diving board, and reasonable admission ($4 for residents, $8 for non-residents) and snack bar prices (with vegan options and Apple Pay). Many commend the facility's cleanliness, the provision of life jackets, and the diligent, communicative lifeguards who closely supervise children, sometimes engaging in fun water activities during adult swim. Hourly 15-minute adult swim periods are a key feature, appreciated by adults but noted as potentially difficult for small children. The pool is also praised for being accommodating for children with sensory needs. However, one strong negative review cited inconsistent and nitpicky lifeguards who detracted from the experience, and reported unsanitary conditions in the women's restrooms. Despite this, the majority of visitors highly recommend the pool and express a desire to return.

We are not residents of Charlottesville but decided to try out this place one Thursday in July. We arrived shortly after 11 and we were able to find a table with no issue. The lifeguards were very diligent, but we found them helpful and not a burden. The snack bar was good with very good prices- and Apple Pay available on f you don’t have cash! Every hour we had a 15 minute adult swim, this was difficult for my small kiddos but we had other ways to entertain them during those periods. My oldest (7) son is autistic with limited speaking and sensory needs— he had a great 3 hours at this pool with no issue! Overall, we will definitely be back!
Love this place!! We had so much fun this summer here! Clean and family friendly with even a place for the littles! Watch out for the dumb bucket though!
An amazing place to spend a few hours with the kids! The atmosphere is fun and family-friendly, with plenty of activities to keep children engaged and entertained. The price is very reasonable, especially considering how much there is to do. Highly recommended for a relaxed outing with the little ones!
This pool is fantastic for several reasons, and I’ll go ahead and list them along with answers to the MANY questions I had before arriving that others might have as well: 1. The deepest point of the pool is 12 feet, where the diving board is located. 2. There is no swim test for adults so don’t worry about being graded on your swimming abilities before going down the slide or drifting down the lazy river. You’re good so long as you’re taller than about 42”. 3. There’s a snack bar with very cheap, reasonable food! Vegan options too! 4. Roughly twice an hour, there’s a fifteen minute break where all children are encouraged to exit the water so that adults can have time to swim. I didn’t anticipate how much of a relief that fifteen minute window would be for those of us without kids… 5. There’s a slide for children as well as adults, and there’s no restriction in any section of the pool for anyone besides very small children, who can take a swim test to prove they’re safe in the “12 depth. The test itself is simply front and back strokes, and treading water. 6. There’s a men’s room, women’s room, and a family changing bathroom for anyone who wants a gender neutral option or needs to tend to a kid. 7. Every inch of the pool was clean and the chlorine never stung my eyes! 8. Residents seem to take chair claims very seriously, and there were enough lifeguards on watch that we didn’t have to worry about things being stolen or moved. 9. Admission price is 4.00 for residents and 8.00 for non-residents, but they’ll take your word for it if you say you’re a resident, so don’t worry about bringing proof! This pool is fantastic! They provide life jackets for children and adults if you are in need. The life guards here are communicative and a lot of fun, they watch the children VERY closely, and frequently swim, dive, and chase one another with water guns during the fifteen minutes of adult time. My partner and I stayed here for five hours and never had or witnessed a single issue with the lifeguards. There’s always music playing and there are numerous basking chairs if you’re also just looking to relax by the water and catch some sun. 10/10 for all the reasons listed above!
Went today for the first time and will never go back. The lifeguards nitpick every single thing and are not on the same page at all!! One will let a child do something and then another one comes and yells at them. You pay to enjoy your time but unable too!! The woman’s restrooms and showers were gross. Had pee all over the toilets and trash every where. Not worth one star. Don’t waste your time and money!
