Relaxed public option featuring a diving board and water slides, plus a kids' section for younger swimmers.
As an outdoor public facility, the water at 6th Avenue West Outdoor Pool is generally heated to a comfortable range for swimmers, typically around 80-84°F (26.7-28.9°C). Specific daily temperatures are not consistently published, but the pool is maintained for enjoyable use throughout its operational season.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The new pool is largely praised for its excellent amenities, including water slides, a kiddie pool, and lap lanes, making it a highly recommended and often affordable destination for families. Many appreciate the enjoyable atmosphere, good water temperature, and generally uncrowded conditions. However, several common criticisms exist: hourly 'safety breaks' are disruptive for lap swimmers, leading to calls for more flexible schedules. Some find lifeguards overly strict and prone to excessive whistling, especially regarding the anchored rafts. While some consider admission affordable, others note it's a bit pricey.

Love the new pool! Worth waiting two years for the water slides, kiddie pool and big pool with two lanes reserved for laps. The only downside for lap swimmers is they do "safety breaks" every hour where they kick everyone out. Between the pool closing at 5 and the safety breaks, it's hard for any working adult to fit in a good lap workout with these hours. When I was a lifeguard in CT, they'd have an adult swim at the top of every hour for 15 minutes which accomplishes a similar purpose but is much better for lap swimmers.
Excellent experience for my family and I! Plenty of fun amenities for both adults and children. Affordable admission, affordable concession refreshments and snacks. Highly recommended for families looking for an affordable family outing!
Best pool I’ve ever been to, I really enjoy the 10 minute safety break. The staff are nonchalant and chill. When the pool is not open it gives a deep sense of melancholy. The voices and the whistles are quite angelic. Going down the slide is quite fantastical. Tis a magical and grand pool. Would recommend for everybody, this pool fills me up with joy and excitement.
A little pricey to get in but isn't everything these days. Water was a nice temperature, not to crowded
Great pool but good grief the lifeguards need to dial it back a little bit. The 6th avenue pool soundtrack is nothing but lifeguard whistles. I get that that they are charged with everyone's safety however let the kids have a little fun at least. The rafts (permanently anchored to the pool) seem to be an enormous source of contention as all you hear are whistles and kids being kicked off the raft every 3 to 5 minutes. Just take them out of the pool if it's that big of a deal.
