About

Island Kingdom Water Park is the water park section of Elitch Gardens Theme & Water Park located at 2000 Elitch Cir, Denver, CO 80204, USA. It offers a variety of aquatic attractions including a wave pool, a lazy river, multiple thrilling water slides, and interactive splash zones for children, providing a popular family-friendly destination during the summer months.

Specific pool temperatures for Island Kingdom Water Park are not publicly advertised. However, water park pools are typically heated to ensure a comfortable experience for guests during operating hours, especially considering the seasonal climate of Denver, Colorado.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the water park are mixed. Many visitors, particularly families, report having a great time, enjoying the rides, ample shade, and available chairs, often leading them to purchase season passes. Lifeguards are consistently praised for their awareness and friendliness. However, common complaints include the consistently freezing water temperature, especially in the wave pool. The wave pool itself is frequently criticized for its infrequent and short-lived waves, causing long waits. The park is often overcrowded, especially on weekends, making it challenging to secure seating unless arriving early. Food and drink prices are noted as extremely high, leading to strong recommendations to bring personal water and lunch. One review also mentioned a lack of visible staff clean-up during the day.

This water park has the worst wave pool I have ever experienced. We got there at opening and within the first hour the waves went off twice. At this point an announcement was made to clear the wave pool for a mandatory break. We thought this was odd because the pool has only been open an hour. Throughout the day, the wave pool didn’t really improve in quality. People would stand around and wait for the waves to go off, but usually nothing happened. When we got back from lunch at 1:45, the next wave didn’t happen until 2:30 but was cut short due to a life save by the lifeguard. Good job to the lifeguards as their “sprinkler” head movements ensured that they were always on the lookout. People waiting around, but after a half hour I got out knowing that the wave probably wouldn’t show for a while. Also, the water was freezing, especially in the wave pool. Fortunately we got some chairs got the day and this allowed us to have a “home base” to come back to. Unfortunately, some people are not the greatest in cleaning up after themselves, and even worse, no staff ever came through to clean up noticeable messes…I guess they don’t do that until the end of the day once everyone has left. As stated earlier, I did find the lifeguards to be aware and friendly.

Fun water park but it's overcrowded and the water is freezing to the point your feet go numb. Needs to be heated or something. Need to get there before they open to grab a chair or else you won't get one.
