Of all our visits to Great Wolf Lodge, this recent one was by far the most disappointing and fell drastically short of the expected standards. The entire facility was severely understaffed. There was a noticeable lack of staff presence, especially at the water park areas, leading to a complete breakdown of order and safety. The slides were chaotic; we repeatedly saw 3-4 children sliding down together on a single slide, which is a significant safety hazard. Furthermore, the slides clearly marked "No Adults" were consistently used by adults, with no staff intervention whatsoever. The lifeguards and other employees appeared disengaged and lethargic, showing no initiative to enforce basic rules or maintain a safe environment. The cleanliness was appalling. The water in the pools was cloudy and contained visible sand and debris. The bathroom and shower areas were unacceptable; the shower floors were covered in hair and grime, clearly not cleaned for a long time. The drink machines and napkin dispensers at the food areas were coated in a layer of dust, which was very off-putting. The experience extended beyond the water park. Our sleep was severely disrupted at 4:00 AM by loud noises and people running up and down the guest room hallways, with no security or staff addressing the disturbance. This was not just a minor inconvenience; it was a complete failure in management, safety protocols, and basic maintenance. We will not be returning unless we hear significant improvements have been made. A truly terrible experience.
Great Wolf Lodge has been the best water park I’ve ever visited so far. Ive been to many places but I’ve never seen a well-engaged and kid friendly place like this before. My kids had lots of fun at the main lobby every evening. The lobby hosted concerts and story telling events for all the kids. Everyone gathered around, danced, and sang along every night. The buffet is very nice and the food is amazing. We ate here for breakfast and dinner. Our rooms were clean and the employees made sure everything was great. There’s many things to do here and your kids would never get bored. Great Wolf Lodge is an awesome place for your kids to have fun and enjoy what it feels like to be young. The prices are a great deal!
Great Family Fun, But Be Careful With the Towel Return We had a wonderful time at the Great Wolf Lodge. The new buildings and overall facilities are a huge improvement, and my child absolutely had a blast. However, we had a frustrating experience with the towel return system at the pool. We made sure to return all our towels, but later received an email claiming we hadn't. I strongly advise everyone to double-check and maybe even get confirmation when returning them. It seems the staff is so busy that they may not be able to handle their tasks with full attention. Despite this issue, we still have great memories from our trip. It's a fantastic place for kids, and we cherish the fun times we had.
We came here with high expectations since it’s a place kids really love. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what we hoped for. We arrived around 3 PM, and check-in alone took almost two hours. Things were clearly not ready, and the frustration began right at the start. What’s even more shocking is that by 9 PM, there were still plenty of people stuck in the lobby waiting to check in. We came here for a vacation, to relax and recharge, but instead it started off as a stressful ordeal. On top of that, we ordered pizza for the kids. We were told it was ready, but when we went to pick it up, nothing had been prepared. We were asked to wait again — and it took over 40 more minutes. By then, the kids were exhausted and restless. Watching them grow tired and disappointed because of such poor preparation was the most discouraging part. We came here so they could have fun and enjoy themselves, not to spend the day waiting. The facilities themselves do have plenty for kids to enjoy, and with proper operations this could be a fantastic family destination. But this time, it was nothing more than “a vacation of waiting.” Unless the resort improves its staffing for check-in and fixes its food preparation system, I honestly can’t see myself coming back.
My kid loves this hotel, and I’ve been here 3 times this year because of that. But the last two times I’ve had the exact same problem. Back in August, the employee handling towels told me I supposedly owed 4 towels. I told her I had already returned them, and she confirmed and cleared it in the system. Fast forward to last week—I went back, and before I left, I specifically asked if the system showed all the towels were returned. The employee told me yes. And guess what? I still got charged $127 for towels I never owed in the first place. This is absolutely ridiculous. Your system is broken, your staff clearly can’t get it right, and I’m sick of dealing with this every single time I visit. I come here to relax and enjoy time with my kid—not to stress out and fight bogus charges. If this issue isn’t fixed immediately, I’ll make sure to take my business elsewhere and find an alternative hotel that actually respects its customers instead of scamming them with false towel charges.
