The US Army MWR Aquatics Training Center, located at 20733 Constitution Ave, El Paso, TX 79918, USA, is a state-of-the-art facility serving the Fort Bliss community. It features both indoor and outdoor pools, offering a wide array of aquatic programs including swim lessons, lifeguard certification, water safety courses, aquatic fitness classes, open swim sessions, and pool party rentals for all ages and skill levels.
The indoor competition pool at the US Army MWR Aquatics Training Center is typically maintained at a comfortable temperature of 82°F (27.8°C). The outdoor pool is also heated, with its exact temperature potentially varying based on seasonal conditions and operational adjustments.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The facility receives mixed reviews, with many appreciating the friendly and kind staff, the well-maintained environment, and the significant benefit of an indoor pool for sun protection, especially for infants. Reviewers also like the kiddie pool area, the rock wall, varying pool depths, and the tanning area. Lap swimmers find the pool quiet and suitable, though some note the 25-meter length. However, a major recurring complaint is the water temperature in the family/kiddie pool, which is consistently described as too cold for children, causing discomfort, shivering, and blue lips; a warmer temperature, ideally around 87°F (from the current 84°F), is strongly suggested. Other points of concern include the occasional closure or limited availability of the family pool and a suggestion that supervising parents who are not swimming should not be charged.

Edited from 3 stars. Finally at the end of summer. Family pool open again last week. We will see this week. Last week kids were FINALLY motivated to pass the swim test because the family pool was open and they wanted to climb the rick wall in the deep end. People are all great but they really need to keep that family pool open and if parents are not swimming they should NOT be charged anything just to keep an eye on their kids. Isn't this a government funded facility anyway? WTHeck
Quiet, only a couple of others swimming laps. Well maintained. 25 meter laps seem easy when you’re used to a 50 meter pool!
We go every other weekend. But we don't stay for that long because the water is a little cold for the kids their lips get blue purple after like one or two hours in there
Love this pool!!! It’s super important that there is an indoor pool here with this heat and brutal sun!! I can take my 6 month old to the pool and not worry about her getting sunburnt!! The kiddie pool area is so nice! Love that you can try climbing the rock wall and that the pool has a bunch of different depths. The tanning area is also nice as well just in case anyone needs to tan.
The kids pool is so lovely! I’m so glad it’s open now. And the people who work here are always so friendly and kind. However, the kids pool is too cold. It should be warmer than the lap pool. People want training pools cold because they are exercising hard, but kid pools need to be warmer. My youngest was shaking and had his teeth chattering the whole time, by the end he just wanted to be in my arms for warmth the whole time. It’s really too cold for younger children to be enjoyable for them. Research shows for kids to enjoy the water it should be close to 87 degrees and I believe they keep it at 84. Just a little bit warmer would make a huge difference.
