What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this facility are mixed, highlighting both positive aspects and areas of concern. Positively, the facility is praised for its great pool, clean environment, accommodating staff, and suitability for swim meets, offering good seating. Additionally, it boasts excellent outdoor amenities, including a walk pathway, pond, and nearby park with trails. However, several negative points were raised, particularly regarding scheduling and access. Complaints include a confusing pool opening schedule, rare and often-rescheduled family swim times, which disappoints young swimmers and families. A significant concern is the policy prohibiting private swim lessons due to a 'conflict of interest' with city-offered lessons, even when this specific facility does not offer them. Reviewers argue this hinders taxpayer access and the ability for children to learn to swim, suggesting the facility prioritizes swim meets and lap swimming over family and private lesson access.

Great pool and staff. The pool area was great. Only complaint I really have is the schedule for when the pools are open is a little confusing.
Very rare to get family swim anywhere in the system. It is often rescheduled (unscheduled) to the disapppointment of our young learning swimmer. I understand this is off season, but I can't endorse a Parks and Rec that ignores kids and families while providing laps and swim meets to all others. Do better.
Great facility! There is even more. Just behind the building, a walk pathway around the pond, crossing a small bridge, and you are in a park with trails.
They will not allow private swim lessons to go on at their pools, because the city "offers lessons at a different pool," so it would be a "conflict of interest." This facility's website says they are not offering lessons, so there's no competition. Also, what interest does the city have in fewer of its citizens learning how to swim? This is a taxpayer funded facility. It matters to payers like myself that I have access to a public facility (willing to pay any additional fees for entry for us and an instructor) so that my child can learn how to swim.
Great facility for a swim meet. The facility was very clean and offered stadium seating in the front and bleacher seats above to watch athletes. Birmingham Swim League was well represented.
