The NAS Jax Outdoor Pool, located at 2801 Roosevelt Blvd, Jacksonville, FL, is a seasonal recreational swimming facility situated within Naval Air Station Jacksonville. It primarily serves military personnel, their families, and authorized patrons, offering a large main pool, often with diving boards, for general swimming and leisure activities.
Specific temperature information for the NAS Jax Outdoor Pool is not consistently published. As a standard outdoor pool in Florida, its temperature is typically unheated and influenced by ambient weather conditions, generally warming up during the warmer months of operation.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviewers generally praise this venue as a clean, fun, and safe destination, particularly highlighting the live music/DJs and family-friendly amenities such as a splash pad and a water slide (when operational). Many enjoy the atmosphere and have fond memories. However, frequent and significant criticisms concern the severely restricted operating hours, especially on weekends and outside peak summer, with facilities often being partially or fully closed. The main water slide has also been noted as closed for multiple seasons. Another point of confusion is its listing as a 'public pool' despite being on a Navy Base, limiting access to the general public. Food options are also noted as limited, with a recommendation to bring your own.

Clean. Fun. Safe. Live music. We had a blast! Definitely would be back.
Every year the hours get shorter and they’re rarely open. Half of the year they’re open MWF in the middle of the day when everyone is working. Only open in the summer. Website said they’re finally open, just for only the childrens splash park to be open. The pool is closed for at least another 3 weeks. This is getting sad. The slide has been closed 2 seasons now. I wish they were open on the weekends for more than 2 months a year.
I go at least once every summer and I enjoy the days they have the music and djs out. It's a fun place to enjoy some time out in the sun and a little water. I do recommend bringing your own food because they do not sell food other than chips and snow cones.
Why would it be under PUBLIC POOL if it’s a Navy Base? It’s not for the public. Gots to do better google.
I've been going here since I was a kid. And now I take my kids. They even have adult swim at the end of every hr, for 10 mins. They have a huge water slide and all the kids are required to take a quick swim test where they have to tread water for 1 min without holding on to anything and have to swim across the pool once as well to use the slide and be in the deep end. This place also has a splash pad for the young kids as well. Place is super fun and has food and snacks also.
