What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews highlight significant issues at the pool, primarily concerning facility maintenance and staff professionalism. Many users report that the pool is in disrepair, bathrooms are non-operational (with only porta-potties available), and there is a complete lack of seating. Lifeguard conduct is a frequent complaint, citing inattention, unprofessional behavior (cursing, playing, soaking belongings), lack of enthusiasm, and prematurely closing the pool or making excuses to do so. Inconsistent and inaccurate operating hours also cause frustration for families. On a positive note, the pool is free, offers a working diving board and deep-end access, and can be an easy way for children to have fun during summer break, with many patrons noting that other visitors generally seem to enjoy themselves. Visitors are advised to bring their own chairs or blankets.

It's gotten pretty rough here. The pool needs repairs. Bathrooms are in such disrepair, there are porta potties. Lifeguards are playing around with each other and their friends. There are no chairs at all so I set my bag down on the ground. While I was swimming, the lifeguard soaked it with the hose.

Lifeguards are meh but the two that stayed in the lifeguard cubby and repeatedly cursed( words nobody should be saying with small children around) I over looked cause I'm nosy and here for the tea too. Kids were too busy having fun! If they going to get loud over who ever Johnathan is, I'm listening too. Kinda amused me while I watch my kiddo. It also amused the eldery lady swimming to even thru we didn't chat just exchange looks when they got loud in amused way. Made me smile cause I knew we were both being nosy. I think you have to use porta-potties. I refused to investigate that. One diving board works, they were letting kids jump so that's fun, and they let people hang out on the deep size which is cool. ( I didn't let my kid jump, she hasn't before even thru she can swim, the fact the LG wasn't even looking at them worried me. No chances here!) By the time I relaxed and and was like okay, I promised my kid a big pool we are going to have fun. This is what we did as a kid. Two unusual people showed up and sat thier stuff next two ours. On a scale from 1-10. They were a 7 on tweakness. I noped out of there. Everyone else in the pool was amazing and everyone looked to be having a good time and we did too for what it was worth which was free. I just don't take chances and that's on me.

Maybe close at 6 when you’re supposed to instead of at 5:50. Lazy lifeguards who talk like you can’t hear them.

So easy to keep summer break interesting with the little ones here. Free and easy to get to from Murray Hill. Bring chairs or blankets to sit on. You walk in through the bathroom, but there's not an operational one. Only wish there was more enthusiasm from the lifeguard crew. They might not tell you when "break" ends or joke that there's thunder an 45 minutes before closing to get you to leave.

Correct your hours so some parents don't make the mistake of hyping their kids up for NO REASON. This is the only pool in the neighborhood and it's not open at 4 on a Sunday?
