We had a great time in our stay! We had a birthday, so it was very special with the birthday, bash package and the sign on the door and the balloons. It was very welcoming and celebratory. The dining was great. Our server Carlos P he was an amazing server at the great Moose lounge and went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed and also celebrated a birthday so fun! The check-in was easy having our wristbands to do. Everything was ideal and having showers after our splashing was great definitely recommend it if you wanna have a fun time with your kids your family, the whole wolf pack
Great wolf lodge is a water park hotel with locations across the country. We have been to this Anaheim (actually Garden Grove) location for many years. While they offer a day pass, it’s a better value to stay at the hotel, as a one night stay provides water park passes for the day you arrive plus the day you leave. This year, the park has become a lot more automated/self serve. You really don’t need to interact with a human being for check-in, parking, even getting your keys/tags are completely self serve. When I did have a question, there was a staff around to ask. To get your wolf ears you do need to have a engage in a slightly awkward conversation with a time share (I think it was Hilton?) salesperson, she was semi-aggressive which I did not like. Being asked to sign up for some vacation club while I’m with my kids, trying to celebrate a special occasion takes away from the experience. Water park is most indoors and water temperature and air temperature is kept comfortable. Our kids love the entire park. The different slides, the splash pad, the wave pool and lazy river. It is all super fun for all ages, including adults. Our only issues were the cleanliness of the bathrooms were not always maintained well and the lines for slides when it got busy was chaotic and led to customers arguing with each other. Easily avoidable with a better system and appropriate staffing. The hotel rooms are great for families with bunk beds in some rooms and separate kids areas. We slept very well. Check in and check out are a breeze. Parking is a bit expensive but you find that at most amusement parks these days. As for food, I left a separate review on the Loose Moose Family Kitchen. It was one of the highlights of our stay. For a buffet, it’s not bad and our kids were able to find plenty to eat. Special shout outs to our server Cristian and Lisa C at the pasta station who were just pleasant and did their job well and with a smile. GWL is great for all ages whether you’ve just started walking or an kid at heart, there’s something for everyone and it makes the park a wonderful multi-generational family activity, especially for special occasions.
Front desk experience was swift, especially with Grace! Literally her name and vibe. We got our wristbands and explored the lodge. Other than feeling like a sauna, we love that it is indoors. My kids have sensitive skin so the indoors helps with the option to be outdoors. You can enjoy a second day basically for free after check out. Only thing is that the structures needs maintenance. You can see corrosion and mold in the structures. It was kind of gross. Also, saw a cockroach or cricket? It was too fast - near closing time…probably because some folks are gross and don’t clean after themselves.
My kids had a BLAST!! Rooms were nice however our fridge wouldn’t get cold enough to chill milk for my baby so that was kind of rough for our entire stay.. then out room was cleaned only once in 5 nights which we thought was odd. Food was good! The bus line #3 only has ONE BUS!! and we waited an hour to get back to the room from Disneyland. After a full day with kids at the park then we had to wait that long Fri/Sat night was pretty rough just to get back!! But that’s not GWL fault. More of an FYI. Arcade was really fun! Water slides and pool were really fun! Overall we would return back but would make sure our fridge worked 1st before unpacking all our things 😉🤙🏼
I love taking my family here! We have a blast every time!! Fun for all ages. We literally just enjoy the waterpark while we are there... But there are so many things to do there. They have an arcade, so many food spots, games for children, reading time, art and crafts times, etc. All in the same building. I tell people about it whenever I can.
