Neighborhood swimming facility offering multiple pools, including one for adults.
Specific, consistent pool temperatures for the Plainview Swim Center are not readily available online. As a seasonal outdoor facility, the water temperatures are primarily influenced by ambient weather conditions and natural solar heating, rather than being actively maintained at a set temperature.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The aquatic center features multiple clean pools, including dedicated sections for kids and adults, a diving board (for jumping only), a snack vendor, and allows floats. Daily entry fees are considered reasonable by some, though season passes are pricier but potentially worth it for regular visitors. The adult-only pool is highly praised for its quiet and relaxing atmosphere, especially on less crowded weekdays. However, the main swim area is noted as shallow (5-6 ft maximum). A significant concern highlighted by one reviewer details serious issues with passive and dismissive staff (lifeguards) failing to address disrespectful behavior from children, including a swim team member, and unhelpful adults, raising concerns about a lack of discipline, poor management, and safety, particularly for non-white children. This contrasts with other general positive comments about cleanliness and staff.

It's a little pricey but it is in that end of town. It's also clean. They allow floats in the pool. I wish there was a deeper swim area, as you can only swim to 5-6 feet. There is a diving board but it's segregated and not for lounging, just jumping off the board and repeat. There's both an additional kid section, and an adult section. Both seem to always be packed. There's a snack vendor. And there's a buzzer every so often for kids to get out, but adults can stay in. It's nice to swim around the pool without bumping elbows with all the kids.
This place is run by kids, tolerated by weak adults, and apparently backed by a swim team that thinks basic respect doesn’t apply to them. My 7-year-old and I were swimming when a younger kid kept splashing him in the face. After several ignored requests to stop, I stepped in. That kid ran off to an older boy who was wearing a Plainview swim team cap with “Ben” written on his shoulder. A few minutes later, I was being deliberately sprayed with a water gun. I turned around to see it was Ben. When I told him to get his parent, he smirked and said, “Why would I do that?” A man nearby, who claimed to be with the swim team, immediately defended Ben, saying he “wasn’t raised that way.” The lifeguard just kept repeating, “It’s okay,” like a broken record instead of stepping in. This is exactly the kind of passive, dismissive behavior that creates entitled, disrespectful kids. The swim team clearly doesn’t teach discipline, and the staff doesn’t seem equipped to manage basic conduct let alone safety. Parents, especially those with non-white children, be warned.
It can be busy on the weekend, but during the week it's pretty chill, even in the kids pool. More than anything I love that there is an adult only pool, it's quiet enough you can read a book or listen to music, people frequently just float around or sunbathe. Next year I really hope to get a season pass!
Multiple pools. There's something for every age at a relatively low price. The summer passes are pricy but I imagine very worth it if you plan on coming regularly.
