About

Public swimming pool offering open swim times and lessons, plus accessibility features.

Specific temperature information for the pools at the Lauderdale Lakes Aquatics Center is not consistently advertised or readily available to the public online. However, public recreational swimming facilities typically maintain their pools at a comfortable temperature, generally ranging from 78°F to 82°F (25°C to 28°C).

What are people saying (AI review summary)? This pool facility receives overwhelmingly positive feedback, particularly for its accessibility features, including a ramp with a traction surface and a water wheelchair, making it excellent for children, the elderly, and those with disabilities. The staff, including 4-5 lifeguards and coaches like Bob and Chris, are consistently praised for being friendly, welcoming, attentive, patient, and effective in teaching swimming lessons and leading water aerobics. The water temperature is described as pleasant and slightly warm, and the facility is generally considered very safe and family-friendly. Admission is $2 per swim, and cards are accepted, with no residency requirement. While one severe negative review described the pool and changing rooms as very dirty with unsanitary conditions, this contrasts sharply with other reviews. A recurring minor issue mentioned is the cleanliness of the bathrooms, specifically dirty grab-bars and occasional water pooling on the floor, though one user noted this pooling was a one-time issue and the floor is usually dry.

Update: experienced this pool in person, and it is wonderful, especially for children and elderly or disabled. There is a ramp leading into the pool, with a surface underfoot that is designed for traction. No worries about falling while descending the ramp. Also for those that need it, a water wheelchair is available. (2/10/23- I got a photo showing the ramp; just added it to this review!) The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They consist of 4-5 lifeguards, so there’s an over abundance of safety in this setting. The water temperature was pleasant- slightly warm. Access to the facility is also totally wheelchair friendly. The only drawback I experienced was the bathroom, although clean enough, wasn’t pristine. For example, grab-bars in the handicapped toilet stalls (there were two such stalls in the main bathroom) were dirty to the point that I didn’t want to touch them. Unfortunately the floor was not sloped towards the drain, and water was pooling on the floor. But the water on the floor did not stink. It also didn’t make the floor slippery. It was just an effort to change clothes and avoid getting things wet. (Update: I have only experienced this problem one time. Usually the bathroom floor is dry.) Open swim hours are M-F 1pm-4pm and Sat is 8am-Noon (often they hold a swim lesson program on Saturdays and open swim is not allowed.) There are also classes at other times- I am attaching a photo of the typical schedule. Admission is $2 per swim. Cards are accepted, not cash. There is no residency requirement to utilize the pool.

Love this place! Both of our boys take swimming lessons here and all the lifeguards are amazing! Very friendly, extremely attentive, and great with kids, adults, and those with disabilities. Again the ENTIRE staff is amazing but since our boys swim with coach Bob we have a little extra love for him! He is wonderful and very patient. Although patient, the coaches push them to become better swimmers.

Chris focuses on arms and getting heart rate up. Keeps the rhythm up at all times. He's one of our favorite coaches for water aerobics.

This pool is the most disgusting I've ever seen. Very dirty changing rooms, dirty pool water and several piles of shit right at the edge of the pool. Stay away from this place.
