What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the UM pool are mixed, highlighting both positive and negative aspects. On the positive side, it is praised as an excellent, reasonably priced facility with a good vibe due to its proximity to the lake, and is appreciated for being open to the public. Lifeguards are noted as engaged. However, significant concerns include frequent and often 'bogus' closures attributed to reasons like 'systems down,' insufficient chlorine, or unverified 'events.' Management issues are also prominent, with complaints about miscommunicated office hours, unclear answers from staff, and entitled student staffers. The pool's cleanliness is a recurring issue, and there's a general perception of a lack of accountability, with the facility often seen as being run by inexperienced staff. Callers are advised to confirm hours or services due to frequent operational disruptions.

The UM pool and it’s management has declined significantly the office hours are often miscommunicated and posted incorrectly and when calling you cannot get a clear answer as to what the times are and you also get some entitled attitude by student staffers. The lifeguards are engaged and good, but the pool unfortunately is dirty quite often recommend other community pool programs and surrounding areas
Says I had to come back another day since their services are down , so I recommend you call first and maybe get an appointment before coming
Excellent pool! Reasonably priced (some of the public pools cost comparatively lower but it’s next to the lake and has a different vibe). It’s great that they allow members of the public to use the pool and amenities.
Today's excuse: "systems are down and we don't have enough chlorine in the pool so we're only open to swim teams." Too frequently closed for bogus reasons. E.g. they say there's an "event" but there's nothing going on. The place is run by kids and there's no accountability.
As'part of the U it a great place to train relax or hang out .
