Pools designated for water exercise and swim lessons are usually slightly warmer, ranging from 84-86 degrees Fahrenheit.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The facility receives high praise for its significant upgrades, particularly the gym which features excellent, high-quality equipment (including Rogue IWF bars), impressive cleanliness, and a friendly front office staff. The outdoor pool is also highly regarded, offering diverse areas for all ages, a snack shack, and dedicated lap lanes, alongside an indoor lap pool. However, a major concern highlighted by multiple reviewers is the 'insane' cost of pool memberships, especially for non-residents, with prices often exceeding $500. Another consistent complaint is the 'notoriously hot' temperature of the indoor pool used for swim meets, a long-standing issue causing discomfort. Despite the high membership costs and the indoor pool's temperature, the outdoor pool is generally described as well-maintained, clean, and well-staffed, though it can be crowded.

I grew up at CPFC so seeing the upgrades was a shock. But whoever built the gym- big kudos to you! They have excellent equipment, and I think I died and went to heaven when I saw the Rogue IWF bars. They even have machines that count for you. I’ve never seen the facility so clean and the front office staff was so nice. They really did a great job with the upgrades.
Outdoor pool has something for everyone! There's a kids pool, a separate pool for older kids, a section for adults and a diving/slide area! And if you need a snack after spending time in the sun/pool they have a snack shack!! That's not all...there is two lanes I'm the outdoor pool for swimming laps and an indoor pool dedicated for swimming laps...so come for some sun and get your laps in...
Pool is very nice looking and has food options, incase packing a cooler isn't your thing. You cannot get into this pool unless you have a membership. It was so nice looking, u was willing to sign up for a membership, until I saw the prices. 400-550 depending on if you're a Cranford residen. The higher price is if you're a non resident. I live 5 mins away in the Borough of Roselle, so if I signed up for me and my kids, it would cost over 500.
Pool memberships are insane. That being said, at least there is 1 out there that has a non resident option and a guest pass that isn't entirely unreasonable. As a kenilworth resident I sure wish we could get a discount, since half the people at orange Ave pool are from k town, but it is a clean, well maintained and well staffed pool with a friendly, if not crowded, vibe. It is also bike distance from all of kenilworth.
Indoor pool used for swim meets is notoriously hot at all times. Prepare to be dripping in sweat if Cranford is hosting your swim meet…. Been like this for years without any change, I guess they’re waiting on someone to pass out before doing anything about it.
