The Jersey Aquatic Center, located at 629 Central Ave, New Providence, NJ 07974, USA, is an indoor swimming facility dedicated to aquatic programs. It offers a range of activities including swim lessons for all ages, aquatic fitness classes, open swim sessions, and pool rental options, serving as a community hub for water-based recreation and instruction.
The main teaching pool at the Jersey Aquatic Center is typically maintained at a comfortable temperature ranging between 88-90°F (31-32°C), making it ideal for swim lessons, aquatic therapy, and general recreational use.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The facility is highly praised for its modern, spacious, and clean environment, featuring a huge Olympic-size pool (available in both Short Course Yards and Long Course Meters) which is considered excellent for competitions due to its size, temperature, and ample lanes. Additional amenities include a nice lobby with games, a gym, and a concession stand. However, there are significant drawbacks for spectators, including small bleachers, obstructed views from air ducts (which also block a poorly placed scoreboard), and a reported leaking roof. For championship events, there's criticism regarding the lack of public address announcements and severely delayed live-streams. For general use, lap swim schedules can change suddenly, and lanes tend to be very crowded during the summer.

Excellent pool, and modern atmosphere. There is also a very nice lobby and even a ping pong table and hockey game there. There is also a gym and concession stand. The actual pool is huge, one of the biggest I have ever been to. It is an Olympic size pool, both available in Short Course Yards and Long Course Meters. The stands for audience are nice and fit many people, and a good warm down/warm up pool for swimmers. In terms of competition, it is one of the best my son has ever been to. Spacious, clean, and modern all in one. A true staple of New Jersey Swimming. I hope future Eastern Zone meets will be hosted here.
Awesome pool for swimmers, less so for watching meets. Great temperature, plenty of lanes, and long course option is a huge bonus. Heads-up for parents: bleachers are small, the roof leaks a little, and the view from the back is blocked by air ducts. Get there early for a good spot!
It is Feb 8, 2025 and I'm attending the 2025 YMCA Bronze Swimming Championships. I'm leaving this review in part for the facility and in part for the organizers of the event. As an audience member, there is almost no way to know what is going on at the pool deck. There is a scoreboard, but it's at the other end of the pool from where the races are. To make matters worse, unless you're stirring in the first or second row, the scoreboard is blocked by the air ducts, However, the event is allegedly being "live-streamed". The problem here being the "live- stream" is delayed by more than a half- hour. Finally, none of the races are being announced. There no public PA, and the starter is announcing races. For a championship event, this is just horrendous.
Excellent facility. Hosted the CTA Winter Meet. Plenty of bleacher seating and events were were streamed on YouTube on the Jersey Aquatic channel.
I’m so happy the space exists but just expect sudden changes in lap swim schedules and very crowded lanes in the summer.
