Well-maintained water park featuring a diving board, kids' splash area and slides.
Specific, consistently maintained pool temperatures for the James W. Roe Memorial Pool are not publicly advertised. As a large outdoor municipal facility primarily open during the summer, its pool temperatures generally fluctuate with ambient weather conditions, providing a refreshing experience typical of unheated or solar-warmed outdoor pools.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for Wayne Community Pool are predominantly negative, primarily citing issues with staff and management. Multiple users described staff as rude, unhelpful, and discriminatory, with one particularly detailed account alleging severe discrimination, bullying, and public humiliation of a child with autism by specific managers (Kevin Batty and Mathew Huppert), including accusations of ableism and racial bias, leading to a reported pursuit of legal action. Other complaints include unfair entry policies, refusal of refunds, and general unprofessionalism. While some positive points were mentioned, such as the pool being clean, safe, fun for kids, and a good summer option with decent food, these positive remarks are overshadowed by strong criticisms regarding staff conduct and discriminatory practices, causing some to state they will not renew their memberships. One minor suggestion was for earlier opening hours.

The pool was very nice but the staff was very different approach. The manager didn’t apologize for the staff s rude She created multiple obstacles just to avoid letting us in as guests. I probably believe that she suspects us without any reason Even though she saw my friend, who is a member, and accepted us by requesting a payment, she still refused to let us in after we paid.If it is rule why they don’t mention about my friends leaving there even though they saw her while she was leaving Does all staff check the members leave early or not ?Really???Absolutely No! The manager acted even more unfairly — she refused to refund my money. My friend, the member, had already left, but the manager said she could come back to go the recreation center for refunds
Discriminatory, Hostile and Completely Unacceptable If you are a parent of a child with special needs, stay far away from the Wayne Community Pool. I am a mother of a 5-year-old boy with autism, and what we’ve experienced here has been nothing short of discrimination, bullying and public humiliation. Two managers in particular-Kevin Batty and Mathew Huppert- have gone out of their way to harass, single out, and target my child in ways that are cruel, unfair and completely unjustified. My son has been yelled at by staff, forced to wear a diaper when other children aren’t, and treated like a problem simply for existing. Mathew Huppert even screamed at me and threatened to call the police, over minor incidents that were blown completely out of proportion.. all while white families around us broke the same “rules” without a single word. This is ableism and racial bias, plain and simple. The manager whispers about my son to all the lifeguards as soon as we arrive, stare at him, and enforce rules selectively. There is no inclusion here. There is no empathy. There is only judgment, power-tripping, and a complete lack of professionalism. I’ve reported this to the Parks Director and am pursuing legal action, because enough is enough. If this is how Wayne Township allows its staff to treat children..especially those with disabilities-then it is a shameful reflection of this community’s values. To the management at Wayne Community Pool: you should be ashamed. And to other families don’t wait until it’s your child being humiliated to speak up. This place is not safe, not fair and not worth your time.
Clean, safe and fun for kids. I wish it was opened earlier in the morning. I cannot let my kid be exposed to the sun at 12.
Very very rude stuff specially the front people . Not going to be a member next year just bc of their rude behaviors .
Nice summer option for the family to get together with the Wayne families. Decent food and snack options at the snack bar. Clean.
