What are people saying (AI review summary)? The community pool is largely praised as a great, clean, and comfortable spot suitable for families, children, and lap swimmers. Reviewers highlight the wonderful and genuinely interested instructors, friendly staff, and the overall enjoyable experience for kids taking swim lessons. The facility offers a nice pool area, comfortable water temperature, eight lanes for lap swimming, designated shallow areas, and amenities such as locker rooms, heated showers, lounge chairs, umbrellas, and ample parking. Many find it an affordable option, especially with the family pass. The primary complaint, however, is the excessive use of chlorine, which one reviewer found harsh enough to cause hair damage after repeated visits, suggesting a need to space out trips. Some also expressed a wish for longer lessons.

Nice pool area with lots of instructors.
If your looking for a cool spot to take the kids, or even just you and a friend for a few hours then this is a great spot. It's not that expensive and the pool and area is kept clean. My only complaint is the amount of chlorine used to keep the water clean. Yes there are a lot of kids, yes they probably pee in the pool, yes the staff if trying to control this but the amount of chlorine after several trips removed the hair from my calves, and shortened my daufhters hair but 3 inches. Probably want to avoid closely repeating trips.
This is the second time my son is taking swim lessons at this pool. Last time (when he was 1 years old), he enjoyed it but didn't quite know what to expect. This time around, he is all smiles, laughing, and thoroughly enjoying himself. The instructors are wonderful and really take a genuine interest in the children. The pool is a good temperature and the pool doesn't seem crowded. My only wish is that the lessons would be longer but for now it works for us. My son will be taking 10 lessons this summer and I know he's going to enjoy every second of it.
Great staff, friendly service. Kids love coming here to swim. The family pass they offer is a great deal for the summer.
The community pool at Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks is a great 25 yard pool with eight lanes. Pool temperature is always comfortable, pool is clean and landlines for lap swimming. They do have designated shallow water area with steps to exit the pool the entire length of the pool. Manager Dee is great. Has locker rooms as well as on deck changing area and outdoor heated showers. Lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas. Plenty of parking. Lifeguards. Great place to spend any day of the year.
