It serves as a community hub for swimming, recreation, and various aquatic programs.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for YMCA pools present a mixed experience. Baker Park Pool is highly praised for its exceptional cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and amenities, including a large, fenced kids' pool with a slide and water features, a separate lap pool, and attentive lifeguards. Visitors appreciated the spacious and clean bathhouse, central lifeguard station, and ample lawn space. Conversely, another YMCA pool location is heavily criticized for poor management, frequent unavailability of key attractions like diving boards and slides, and inadequate communication regarding pool closures for events. This location also lacked an operational snack bar, offering only vending machines, leading to significant dissatisfaction and potential membership discontinuation.

It's all about getting in the pool with all this nice weather out
This was the first time we visited this YMCA pool. Compared to our usual pool, this one was much nicer. The kids pool is very large and includes a slide and other water features. AND ... It is fenced in, which helps a lot with preventing young toddlers from making a run for it. The main pool was busy but not crowded. The life guards were very attentive and very close to all guests. We also noticed a separate lap swimming pool, which would eliminate the need to push members out of the way to create lanes when requested (we have seen that happening at other YMCA pools regularly, when paid-for scheduled classes were moved out of the way for lap swimming). The kids playground is near the kids pool. All the different areas are close to each other with plenty of lawn area around to find a shady spot (or sunny spot if you prefer). The life guard station is also in the midst of it all and not tucked away in a far corner. The bathhouse/changing rooms are very spacious and clean. In general the entire park was very neat and clean. In another YMCA location later in the day it appears as if a pig convention had just left. Even at 7pm when baker park pool closed it still was very clean. Everyone simply cleaned up after themselves when needed. Over all, this was a great surprise after another YMCA pool disappointed us this season. And we will definitely return to Baker Park Pool within the next few days, weather permitting.
Is the diving board open? Are the slides running and open? Consider yourself lucky if they are. This Y pool is so poorly run that these standard (and highly promoted!) attractions are frequently unavailable on summer afternoons and evenings. Completely unacceptable, and there is no apologetic attitude for it. In addition, they do a terrible job of communicating pool closures (for swim meets). Did I mention that they have no operational snack bar and it is now July? So bring your coins and small bills for a vending machine lunch or dinner. The abysmal pool management has me considering discontinuing our family membership. Horrible management on all levels.
Well maintained and clean facilities. Lifeguards appear attentive. Very popular with locals. Large deep pool with slides. Lap pool. Splash pool for young children. Recently added lounge chairs and umbrellas. Worth a membership for summer use.
