What are people saying (AI review summary)? The YMCA receives strong praise for its childcare programs, including pre-K, before/after care, and summer camp, with staff described as professional, accommodating, patient, and excellent at communication, fostering positive values in children. The facility is generally noted as clean and well-located. However, there are significant concerns about the swimming pool's safety, citing overly hot water and a broken HVAC system affecting air and chlorine quality. Staff interactions are mixed; while some trainers are highly commended, other staff members are perceived as unfriendly, particularly to non-members or new visitors. Furthermore, there are serious complaints regarding management, internal employee drama, favoritism, and high turnover of good staff, which reportedly negatively impacts children's program participation and overall quality.

My son has been attending this YMCA for pre-k and I cannot express my gratitude to all the staff here who are always pleasant, professional and accommodating to my child's individual needs. We couldn't have found a better place for our exuberant and energetic 5 year old son. It was a delight...the patience, the daily verbal and online progressive reports; activities, pictures and videos, truly helpful and appreciated. Highly recommend.
It's a nice overall facility but the swimming conditions here were unsafe. The pool is 6 lanes and 25 yards long. It’s 9’ 4” deep in the deep end and 3’ 6” deep in the shallow end. The water temperature read above 85 degrees Fahrenheit which is too hot for competition swimming. The HVAC system was also broken when I was here so as a result, chlorine levels and air quality could reach dangerous levels. Once they fix the conditions, this place would be very nice!
My son has been a member of the YMCA before & after care program the last 4yrs and also summer camp. I have watch the programs & Staff grow and provide exceptional care since day one. I’m extremely grateful and a proud parent with a piece of mind knowing my child is being taught respect, values, morals & integrity. I appreciate them on so many levels they offer so many different activities throughout the year for the family to be involved it’s those thing’s that count!
The location is great, and the building is kept clean, even the rooms that aren't used very much. The staff makes the difference in the experience though. I had a trainer who worked with me who seemed to really enjoy his job. He helped me reach my training goal and almost was excited each time I achieved a personal best. The other staff are not as nice, and unfriendly if you don't already belong to the Y. Even giving directions made them cold, and two of them laughed when they accidently sent a new member to a wrong location. I wouldn't recommend this location to new people in the area.
Between the two managers (who were rarely there), this particular Y tends to have a lot of employee drama. Also based on my personal experience, there seems to be favoritism between the employees and managers of this Y. This interferes the children having fun and participating in activities like they should be doing and following the curriculum. It also came to my concern that most of the employees/counselors at this location who actually did their job didn't stay for long. Current counselors are immature, create drama amongst themselves and other staff which is had a negative impact on the children as well. This Y has lost many good counselors and I see an enrollment of slacking workers. Which is sad to say the least.
