The Swim School director, Danielle is absolutely phenomenal. I've used other swim schools, this one is way dofferent. You can tell within minutes that shebis well trained and knows what she is doing, from her teaching methods, her interactions with the children and even how she handles special needs children, she is above board and exceeds all expectations! I cannot recommend the swim school enough!
MS. DANIELLE & LITTLE GATORS SWIM SCHOOL FTW! We seriously can’t say enough good things about Ms. Danielle. When my daughter started swim lessons, she was completely water-resistant—nervous, hesitant, and not interested in getting in, let alone swimming. Now? She’s an able little fishy babe who loves the water! We’ve tried other swim programs in the area, but they were either too informal—teen “teachers” who changed every lesson, which was frustrating for both me and my daughter—or too rigid and structured, which just wasn’t a good fit for our family. Ms. Danielle is that perfect sweet spot in Roanoke for water safety, foundational skills, and stroke development. The confidence and ability were in my daughter all along, but Ms. Danielle helped her unlock it with patience, encouragement, and a totally kid-centered approach. She meets every kid where they are and creates a space that’s calm, fun, and empowering. And she’s incredibly easy to work with, which is a huge bonus for busy parents. We’re so grateful we found her!
This is a great place to get swim lessons for kids in the area. The kids have learned so much more from gators than where they went before. The teachers are patient and each kid gets the quality attention needed to learn. Since it is next to a school parking in the lot is hard/takes awhile at the time school lets out.
This facility is home to the Gators swim team. It is the best club for competitive training and produced many, many Olympic Trials qualifiers over the years. Not a racer? No problem. Pool is available for lap swimming M-F. Best facility in the area for swimming inclusive of all ages and abilities.
Facilities are largely managed and funded by a non-profit swim club to improve the community. I've been on the pool deck here for swim meets and experienced a lot of use but typically the locker rooms are cleaned at the beginning and end of every day. Quite honestly, there really aren't other places to go that are so open and accessible to the community.
