What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for Washington Park pool are mixed, highlighting both significant positives and frustrating negatives. Many visitors praised the pool as an excellent and affordable option for families, particularly for young children, due to its design that allows parents to easily keep an eye on their kids. The facility is often noted for being clean, with clear, well-maintained water. Several reviewers were highly impressed by the attentive and rule-enforcing lifeguards, which contributed to a sense of safety. However, a recurring complaint centers on the concessions, with some users reporting a severe lack of hydrating options like bottled water, only soda, and limited snack availability, despite others finding them affordable and sufficient. Another major point of contention involves the pool's policies and lifeguard strictness; some visitors found rules regarding infant flotation devices to be unsafe or unrealistic for toddlers, and others reported lifeguards being rude, unprofessional, or overly strict, even for minor child play or during adult swim, leading to feelings of frustration and being unwelcome.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT SOMETHING FOR THE KIDDOS TO DO AND COOL OFF.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
This pool is amazing for young kids- even more for their parents. There wasn’t a spot where you can’t see them and with two kids I was easily able to keep both within view the entire time. The lifeguards are very attentive and enforce the rules- as a former lifeguard / pool manager I rarely see a lifeguard paying enough attention. I was very impressed and felt my kids were very try safe. The facility is clean and the water was clear and you can tell the chemicals are well balanced. Rare at a public pool that crowded. Concessions are only $1 each- and despite other reviews they have plenty of water and other options. We will be back often!
We had a wonderful time at Washington Park pool today. The facilities were clean, the lifeguards and staff were friendly, and my daughter loved the water features. This is a very affordable option for a family fun!
I was excited to visit this brand new pool for the first time, but unfortunately, it was a letdown. The website clearly said they had concessions, so I assumed basic necessities like bottled water would be available. Wrong. All they had was Coke and Sprite—nothing hydrating—and were out of most snacks anyway even if they had water as an option (they didn’t). I asked about water and was told to use the fountains, which I didn’t feel comfortable with. The pool just opened recently and has been packed every day, so who knows how many people have touched or used those? To make things worse, during adult swim my young son wasn’t even allowed to dip his feet or ankles in the water to stay cool. It was the shallow end (about 6 inches deep by the sprinklers). The lifeguard insisted he had to be completely out, even though there was no safe or shaded place for him to sit to keep cool while he waited. It felt unnecessarily strict and honestly, just inconsiderate given the heat and lack of hydration options. We left early, hot and frustrated. Not the fun day we were hoping for. I recommend going to one of the other older pools like Fallon park.
Very disappointed—will not return. I was shocked to learn this pool does not allow infant flotation devices. Their suggestion? Hold the baby or put them in the shallow end—neither of which are safe or realistic for a 1-year-old. They recommended a puddle jumper, which is actually less safe for a child that young. Safety should be the top priority, and this policy makes no sense. The lifeguards were rude and unprofessional. One accused us of smoking weed at the pool (with absolutely no evidence or smoke present), and another kicked us out for supposed rule-breaking by the kids—who were just doing normal kid things like splashing and playing. To top it off, the snack bar was laughable. Barely any options, and each item was $1.00, which felt like a cash grab for low-quality offerings. We left feeling frustrated and unwelcome. I won’t be coming back, and I definitely won’t recommend this place to others.
