What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for Rebound pool surfacing product are overwhelmingly negative, particularly from contractors. While a few users found the product to be aesthetically pleasing, cost-effective, and noted its improved traction and softness, the vast majority experienced significant product failures within 1-2 years. Common complaints include the material wearing out, bubbling, peeling, crumbling, clogging filters, and persistent algae issues. Contractors report extremely high failure rates (80-100%) and accuse the company of deceptive advertising, specifically regarding the product's ability to fill imperfections. Customer service is consistently described as non-existent, with the company reportedly charging for additional materials needed due to product flaws, refusing refunds, and offering only more of the same ineffective product instead of actual solutions or honoring warranties. Strong warnings are issued to both contractors, who risk business failure, and homeowners, who are advised to stick with traditional pool finishes due to Rebound's unreliability and lack of accountability.

I used the Rebound product on several pools as I was interested in becoming an installer of the product, I was sent the product, and the training and customer service was non existent. They told us it would "fill in" any imperfections in the pool surface from the previous interior... when it didn't and we sent pics, then they sent a different material to fill in the imperfections! They should have sent those in the first place and trained us properly! Then they wanted us to do additional layers so they sent more Rebound material... AND CHARGED US FOR IT WHEN THEY SCREWED UP BY SAYING IT WOULD "FILL IN" THE IMPERFECTIONS! As a company, we just wanted to make the customer happy so we paid it and redid the entire surface with more layers... 6 layers combined! I figured that was the end of it and the customers would be happy... which they were... for a very short time... fast forward 2 years later... EVERY CUSTOMER has complained about it wearing out in multiple spots, contant problems with algae, multiple bubbles in the materials and Rebound crumbles clogging their filters... for the entire 2 years of having the Rebound interior! This product DOES NOT WORK LIKE ADVERTISED! YOU WILL BE REDOING YOUR INTERIOR WITHIN A YEAR OR TWO! When removing it after only two years, a customer said it just peeled off in many spots and had moisture underneath! I really wanted to believe in this product and become an installer but it turned out to be a dud!
We have experience with one pool step with rebound and we agree with the other contractors that are VERY dissatisfied with the product and the customer service with Lance and company. As stated in numerous reviews we have now read, they will not refund any $ but will send more of the product that does not work. We have tried for a year to get any kind of help from Rebound. All they will agree to is sending more product, and that is not what we need. They will not send any installers to help repair or redo the step. We even had an experienced and certified installer do the job and he will not stand behind his work. Contractors beware!!
Rebound Pools recently re-surfaced our aging fiberglass steps and it looks fantastic. Really love the color and the rebound material. Also great to consider if you have little ones that are prone to slipping, rebound provides great traction and is quite a bit softer than other materials.
Most cost effective and elegant solution for refinishing a pool I have come across. The coverage And blending over repairs made all flaws of the pool surface disappear.
****CONTRACTOR & HOMEOWNER BEWARE**** My name is Austin Hodge; I own Southern Oasis Pools out of southeast Georgia, a new construction, renovation & cleaning swimming pool company. We partnered up with rebound not long after they had come into the market. We were told all kinds of test and procedures had been done on the polymer/granular, which had not been anything more then at a workbench in some hot roll up door shop based out of California. We, Southern Oasis Pools have had a 100% failure rate with the material rebound has provided, with other contractors we are in contact with (50+) are between 80%-100% failure rate. Steve Walsh, Nor Lance do not have any solid answers as to why their material continues fail in MULTIPLE ways. Instead of actually warranting the product, they just send you more of the BAD product to slap on the pool to become the homeowners problem. This company sells you the IDEA of a longer-lasting, more comfortable Alternative to pool finishes, however an IDEA is all they sell you. If you are a contractor; RUN, and run fast - you WILL go out of business installing this product; I can put you in touch with company’s all across the United States that are going out of business due to rebound not backing the product they sell us. If you are a homeowner; stick with traditional plaster, gel coat, or tile finishing. The product seems to be too good to be true, and that’s because it is. Getting your pool renovated is already expensive, imagine having to pay for it twice because ‘rebound pool surfaces’ surely won’t be of any assistance with fixing your pool after the product has been installed. RUN!
