What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Swimstitute receives mixed but generally positive reviews, with many customers praising its services. Highlights include excellent swim instructors, particularly Emma, who are credited with building children's swimming skills and confidence, alongside flexible lesson scheduling. Lap swimmers appreciate the clean pools, ideal water temperature, and friendly environment, noting convenient hours and a reasonable drop-in fee. The facility is also highly recommended for birthday parties, offering accommodating policies like allowing outside food and drinks, and providing excellent hosts like Tara. However, a significant negative experience was reported regarding a child with a fear of water who was allegedly traumatized by an instructor forcefully holding her underwater. This complaint was reportedly met with a denial of refund, lack of apology, and a manager condoning the instructor's actions, coupled with observations of dirty and disrepaired facilities. This indicates strong positive experiences for some services, but serious concerns regarding safety and customer service in specific instances.

Emma was an amazing instructor for my 7 year old! She challenged him since the first lesson and he has grown so much in his swimming and confidence in the water!! Thanks so much Emma!! I also loved the flexibility of scheduling each lesson..so many other places we looked at required two week sessions and The Swimstitute provided what our family needed in terms of schedule. We will be back!
I love coming here for the lap swim. The pool is clean, the water temperature is perfect and the other swimmers are friendly and courteous. Our sign up process was quick and easy. The staff here is friendly and always willing to help answer any questions.
This Place is Awesome! Just had my daughter's 8th Birthday there with all our friends and family. We were able to bring in our own food and drinks. It was great! And everyone had such a great time! Our host (Tara) was excellent! She was helpful and great with the kids! My daughter said it was her Best Birthday ever! My other kids are already asking to have there next birthdays there! Which we will! Also I'm recommending it to all my children's sports teams as end of the year party's. Great place to have winter birthdays! Thanks again Tara! See you soon!!
I would give zero stars if I could. This place has got to be the worst place in all of the greater Sacramento area to take children to learn to swim. I purchased 15 lessons from this awful place, and explained in great detail that my daughter had no swimming skills and a fear of water. The brilliant folks who work here paired my daughter with an impatient teenager who only works with accomplished swimmers looking to improve their technique. During my daughter's first lesson, her instructor became irritated with my daughter's lack of skill and proceeded to push my child under water and hold her there until my daughter ran out of air and swallowed and breathed in water. The instructor repeated this several times. When my daughter told me what happened I complained and demanded a refund. My refund was denied and the man laughed off my complaints and told me he would have done the same thing the instructor did...I guess because new swimmers are frustrating?! I threatened legal action and never received as much as an apology from the manager. Horrifically unprofessional and psychopathically cavalier in regard to safety. I would strongly recommend that no one ever consider bringing a child here. Also, the facilities are in disrepair and quite dirty. For the money, there are several higher quality facilities available with friendly, qualified instructors.
Surprisingly airy for an indoor pool. I was on the road, and was looking for lap swimming, and this was the perfect anecdote. Lap swimming hrs was 5:30 am - 7 pm, on the weekday that I came. It was $15 for a one time visit. Perfect reset activity, so it felt like a bargain to me. I would definitely visit again, next time I'm in town.
