The pools at the Draper Recreation Center Outdoor Pool are typically heated to provide a comfortable swimming experience for visitors. Specific numerical temperatures for individual pools (such as the lap pool or leisure pool) are not generally published on their official information channels, though they are temperature-controlled for enjoyment.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? This Draper pool generally receives praise for its beautiful mountain views, extensive facilities including large indoor and outdoor pools, multiple diving boards, and a massive outdoor kiddie pool with a playground. Many appreciate the ample grassy areas for relaxation and a 2024 initiative offering free memberships to Salt Lake County kids under 18. Lifeguards are noted for being safety-conscious without being overbearing, and the music playlist is often enjoyed. However, several negative points were highlighted: customer service is a significant concern, with reports of unhelpful front desk staff and managers (Sam Page, Deanna McAllister) unwilling to resolve billing errors or membership issues, exhibiting a lack of empathy. Other common complaints include inconsistent operating hours, the indoor pool being 'way cold,' and the facility sometimes being 'insanely busy,' raising safety concerns. The pool also has strict rules against bringing outside floaties, beach balls, or food/drinks, and children must be able to swim unassisted to use the diving boards, which has disappointed some visitors.

This pool is on the mountain side in south Draper with the most beautiful views. They have some weird open swimming hours depending on the day of the week so make sure you check the pool hours on the day you want to go. The outdoor pool is huge with 2 diving boards (1 normal height and 1 high board) and plenty of swimming lanes. They also have a large kiddie pool outside with a massive playground in it. Inside they have a massive indoor lap pool with an addition large indoor kiddie pool. The outdoor pool is completely surrounded by a lot of grassy areas, so even on the busiest of days you can usually find a spot on the grass to spread out picnic style. We went on the first day the pool opened in 2024 and because it’s a county pool, they were giving free memberships to anyone under the age of 18 under a county initiative to get more kids playing outside. So as long as you could prove you lived in Salt Lake County, all the kids got free memberships for the year.
We stopped by an hour from closing so the kids could swim. I asked for 3 entry fees and paid. I realized while watching the kiddos swimming I was charged for 4 guests. I stopped by the desk and asked about the extra $8. He simply stated I would have to email the manager, Sam Page, since he couldn't do anything for me despite the transaction just happening. I did so that day. I got a reply the following day that she tried calling me, which I didn't receive. Her reply was polite but explained that since I was with the kids, I would have to pay. I tried explaining I should have my entry fee covered by the membership program my work provides, but since I "didn't sign up" on the day of, I was responsible for my entry. Although I was never given the opportunity to do so by the front desk when I asked. I asked for the $8 to be returned since I would of signed the paperwork when asking the front desk about the price I was shoved off as basically to bad to sad, I should of checked before I paid. Which is right. The front desk help was not clear with the price when paying. When addressing this with Sam Page and Deanna McAllister the Managers. I was written off as it's too late for the manager to do anything. Sorry ... to bad for me. Customer Service here was disappointing. Sam, please take this into consideration when helping future guests. It's been a crazy few days for us. Some empathy for a small amount to your business goes a long way for my family.
Not too crowded. Life gaurds are concerned about safety but not overbearing about every little thing. The music Playlist is on point! But, I'm in my 40s so take that for what it's worth. 😁 My only complaint/wish is that they would lay kids go off diving boards with life jackets on.
It was so insanely busy. Indoor pool is way cold. I don't know if it was the day.... but it was not the best experience. I don't know how they can possibly keep that many people in a pool safe.
We recently went to the Draper pool as a guest at our friends daughter's birthday party. The pool itself is huge, the kids had a great time. The only thing that I can say negative is that they are really strict about not bringing any of your own things such as floaties, or beach balls etc. Also, they won't let your kid on the diving board unless they can swim without floaties so that really upset my daughter. Also, you cannot bring any food or drinks so bring money for lunch. The fountain is a big hit, beautiful mountain scenery, fun place
