Wonderful Aquatic Centre. 8 Lanes! Separate Leisure Pool. Took a monthly pass for $20 dollars and never missed a day while on a short visit to SLC
I love this place but the hours keep changing and not always updated on the website. Have discovered open pool is closed due to shortage of lifeguards after reaching at the centre especially in the summer. Disappointed with operations.
I go every day, almost. It is what you pay for. The hours are sporadic. The lifeguards and staff are very kind. The bathrooms are clean and the showers have hot water. The thing to dry swimsuits with is often broken. They have free lockers for your valuables. This doesn't matter to me, but they do let homeless shower there(they have to shower somewhere). I see no evidence of this anywhere on property. They keep things very tidy. The thing that really frustrated me was the swim lane availability... it isn't posted anywhere you would think to first look. In fact, when I came in for the first time in January, I asked the staff how I could know what was going on when and they pointed out a paper calendar that changed every week. I didn't know there was an online way to know what was going on until February... so a lot of days I would show up when they were "open" but had no swim lanes open. Now I check before I go... the schedule does change every week so it's nearly impossible to plan ahead, but again, it's what you pay for.
I love this place; the atmosphere, lap pool, and kids' pool are great. The staff is super helpful and friendly. But the sporadic hours are difficult to plan around, and I know this is due to staffing shortages. I'd love it to be open longer/later so I could still swim after work and school.
This is my favorite community pool in all of Salt Lake County. The open plunge pool has ample shallows for the wee tots to safely explore the water and for their parents to sit comfortably with them, but it also has lots of deeper water to swim in. The current is strong and great for walking and swimming against to build strength or just to float down leisurely. I appreciate that the lifeguards rotate chairs so frequently to keep them alert and sharp. They may be young teens but they take their jobs seriously, and I commend them for that. The water is comfortably warm, the lockers/showers are clean, and it’s a great, cheap option for indoor swimming all year round!
