Me and my family had a membership to go over here all summer, and at first it was great, but now they messed it up. The membership isn't even worth it anymore. The "open plunge" hours are only actually open for two hours and I was kicked out after walking over there, expecting to be able to go swimming.
One of the lifeguards was literally falling asleep on his platform. Said something to three other lifeguards and was told "we can't pull him off the rotation because it's not time yet". This place didn't seem to have any grown up lifeguards or employees. We even emailed their so-called "aquatics safety supervisor" but didn't get a response. The other lifeguards did not care that he was falling asleep on his platform...laughed as if safety was a joke. Overall the facility is nice. The changing rooms did not have working fans and got super hot. A lot of different options with indoor and outdoor pools.
It's the biggest recreation center I've ever seen, with multiple pools, slides, diving boards including a high dive with two different levels, steam room, sauna, gym, etc. I was a pleasantly surprised to find that they had lockers that were programmable and allowed you to feel secure with leaving your stuff in them, and without needing to bring your own lock. I would keep coming here, again and again. Only drawback? They don't Honor the county recreation center pass, stating that they are a independent facility. But, perhaps that's why it's so much better here?
Very disappointing even moreso for a Saturday. Entire Main kiddie attraction was off, so was the flower sprinkler, only one of the diving boards was not blocked off. Go to the snack bar and they have no Coca-Cola nor Dr Pepper. Nothing on the web page saying that the kids attraction was out. There were tons of birthday parties and because half of everything was closed they were crammed into a single pool. Walked around also and there's so many disorganized plastic barriers everywhere, it made it look like everything was under construction. Had to go to the Oval for a soda, and the front desk sent me downstairs to a vending machine that was also out. Came back up and there is a snack bar behind the from desk. Rang Bell 4 times, why even have a bell because I had to go and get the front desk attention anyways. For what I would have thought was Olympic level showcase of SLC facilities and training grounds, seemed run down, disorganized, and almost like they could barely keep the lights on. I've been to the oval years ago for skating and curling, this is the first time for the pool, which if it were working might be good, but now I'm not sure I'll return to either.
This place is turning into a joke!! We're members since 2011 paying month after month. They take automatic payments puntually out of your bank account. They never fail doing it! They've increased the payment many times of course, because we've been members since 2011 like I mentioned before. But they do whatever they want, without any consideration. Today 08/17/25 I had 2 hours of possible swimming and I arrived at the facility and there were signs posted on the doors/windows saying they were closed, that the pool was at max capacity. Which it was all a lie! And the indoor pool totally in dark, when on Google it said that pool is open, doesn't specify or details anything. So you save the trip from coming all the way from wherever you're to find out they're closed! This makes me so angry, because they've reduced the operation hours, they took down one of the jacuzzis., but they will take your money and increased prices no matter what!!! Think twice about enrolling here to a bad service 🤔 👎 👎 👎
