Community facility offering a pool, gym, fitness classes, and a basketball court, plus daycare and summer camp.
The Northwest Recreation Center features both a lap pool, generally maintained at a refreshing 80-82°F (26.6-27.7°C), and a warm water pool, typically kept at a comfortable 90-92°F (32.2-33.3°C), catering to different aquatic needs and preferences.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The rec center offers a good range of facilities, including a well-equipped gym, a lap pool (though the leisure pool may be temporarily closed), and various fitness classes. The pool area is generally enjoyed by families, offering a toddler zone, slides, and a lazy river, and is often praised for being clean and not overly crowded. However, there are significant negative experiences reported, including concerns about lifeguard communication and random pool breaks, and a severe incident at the summer camp where a child was reportedly punched and had their coat stolen, with claims of staff negligence and non-functional cameras. Another visitor reported being denied washroom access despite a medical condition, leading to a highly negative view of the facility's customer service and the surrounding area's public amenities.

As far as rec centers go, this was a pretty good one. Gym, pool, basketball, fitness classes etc. I wanted to also make sure that pictures weee updated, as the website for this center didn’t list the gym as clearly as some of the others in the valley. They have most of the standard equipment, a variety of machines, free weights, a heavy bag, etc. the leisure pool is likely going to be down for a bit, but the lap pool is still available.
Still this is ridiculous. I came from the other state I was passing by and I decided to stop by on this place. It seems like a legit like a gym or anything else. But like I really wanted to use the washroom. Guess what? They turned me around and said no. Nobody can use the washroom here but this is the place in the middle of nowhere and there is a huge Park. Next I asked where is the bathroom? How about the park bathrooms? How about what I do? I need to use the washroom? I have Crohn's disease I mean like I need to use the bathroom. Can I go? No they said no. They said you cannot go and this is what is it? Southern hustle. It's in mountain hostility. I don't know but I wish I never came to Utah. This place is very very very very unfriendly has bunch of addicts everywhere . Absolutely no garbage cans anywhere. Totally unadapted for people to leave in here unless you're making a lot of money. Homeless people are unneeded and walking around the streets and there is literally no way to use the bathroom. If I could I'll give it zero
Pros: clean, no heavy chlorine smell, doesn’t get crazy busy Cons: they take random 5 minute breaks where everyone has to get out of the pool… weird. the lifeguards were shouting at my 1 and 2.5 year old to not go down the slide on their bellies but 1 they need to come talk to me not my littles that barely understand and two they were going down on their bums but then rolled over due to the water pressure which is out of their control. Me being their mother would never allow my kids to disrespect the pool rules or any authoritative figures. I understand most of these lifeguards are still kids themselves but maybe additional training on how to communicate effectively around children and parents would be beneficial.
What a fun Rec center! The kids loved the pool and we spent most of our time in there! Love that they have a toddler area and the big slide/lazy river for older kids too! Can't wait to go back!
DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE!!! MY 4-YEAR-OLD WAS PUNCHED IN THE STOMACH BY AN OLDER BOY DURING THEIR SUMMER CAMP AND GOT HER COAT STOLEN ON THE SAME DAY! STAFF DIDN'T CARE, CAMERAS DON'T WORK, COMPLETELY NEGLIGENT. THE ADULTS HERE SHOULD BE FIRED!!!
