This place had a good flow in terms of parking, amount of tubes, and the service. We were not really explained to very well that even though we brought our own tubes, there is nowhere free to park. We paid $40 for two of us who brought our own tubes. It was a little hard finding the correct area because there were no directions or signs, but basically, just look the tent area with a bunch of girls and they’ll charge you. They had their own tubes, and you can also bring your own. Be aware they do have a pump to blow up your own tube but it was pretty badly busted and we had to hold it with two of us holding the places it was broken at so the air pump would work correctly to fill the tube. The tubing itself is fantastic but is deep in some area so be aware. They have a cute “bar” about halfway down the ride (3 hour float total) with $5 drinks (beer, Jell-O shots). We didn’t see too much trash in the river which was awesome, and the ride back on the bus was simple enough and not a long wait.
Easy and fast registration, people is friendly and keep the tubes clean and there are many available. At the office you can buy some things like plastic thermos, keep in mind what can you bring inside the river and what you can’t. Transportation back to the office is easy, the bus is clean and will stop every hour at the designated stop.
We had a very seamless experience with Texas Tubes. On-site parking, they hold your keys while you tube, the bathrooms are clean. The bus back to put-in was also clean and quick. We were visiting from Florida and have done our fair share of tubing, and we loved the Comal. The shoots were very fun. Was able to buy a waterproof phone case and sunglasses holder, which we forgot to bring from home.
My family and I came down for Memorial Day weekend and had an absolute blast! The staff were friendly and kind, the river was beautiful, and the weather was perfect. I accidentally left my driver’s license behind, and they were kind enough to mail it back to me free of charge! We’re definitely coming back and would recommend this spot to anyone looking to float the Comal River.
The ride was really relaxing and is exactly 3 hours and a half. I really recommend wearing a hat and even bringing something to eat in the meanwhile.
